Well, not really old, just '69-'70.

But it was a "Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, DC".

Bought it right, too. ;)

That's the type of gun that I really like these days. Not that I don't appreciate the stainless and polymer guns, my PM9 is a superb shooting tool. But, that gun is not so appliance like to me. Congrats.

Thanks

Someone must've done an action job on it.

It's smooth as silk and breaks like glass.

Might add it to my training class guns.

Kind of ironic - you have a DC police gun but you can't carry it in DC!

From that time, they didn't need action jobs usually. They came from the factory with smooth actions. Congrats on a fine gun.

My M65 3" Heavy Barrel was supposed to be an LE trade in.
The blued 3" guns (M13) were carried by the FBI before autos.
I read the Oklahoma Highway Patrol requested a stainless version (M65) from
Smith and Wesson.
I've sent a formal query to S&W on my gun requesting verification it's
really an LE trade in. And to identify from what department if possible.

I wait and watch...

Buds has a bunch of Model 10 trade in's for 275. Thought it might be a good addition to the stash around the house guns.

This is my Austin PD model 27. It is a regular shooter and a very good one.

And my Los Angeles County Sherrifs Department Model 15.

I like guns with a history.
