Question

Hi all, I am thinking of getting my CM-9 slide Cerakoting (paint coating) but I am concerned of the overspray to the inside!
I got the gun functioning 100% with no miss-feeds from honing, polishing and going through the rigors to get it just right and I am concerned when they spray the outside they will overspray the inside and get paint in holes, groves, etc, etc! Every application video I saw they do not mask the inside of the slide! Is this normal or do I need to specify not to paint the inside, how did you go about getting yours done? Note, I will be removing all the parts from the inside when I send it in!

Thanks for your input!
Enrico

I've done no Ceracoat, but lots of GunKote (KKote, KalKote). Normally I'll try to cover the item 100 percent, inside, outside... everything.

Coating thickness is minimal and parts are (usually) not fit so tight that functioning is a problem. However.... sometimes pin holes/pins do need some help in fitting - its really no big deal. And sometimes things like very tight fit slide stops on 1911's or bushing/barrel fit on 1911's need a little "break in" again so that the finish wears itself in where things rub. I've never had a "wont work anymore" when coating a pistol or autoloading rifle either.
