Howdy fellow Kahr owners,
I have a few comments about two holsters I just purchased.
The first is the Don Hume model H715 ISWB holster that I ordered directly from the Kahr arms website.

It"s an all leather holster, with a metal clip that is supposed to clip to your belt . It works fine with my 511 tactical web belt, but not so sure about how it works with My Galco leather 1.5" belt. The holster came out along with the pistol yesterday after a session of resting on the couch, so it could have been My fault in that instance.

Its is very nicely made and the mouth of the holster is fairly stiff but it doesn't seem to be metal reinforced. The only problem I have had while re-holstering is the leading edge of the slide release get caught on the top of the holster, when it gets past that point its no problem. For the $30 price it compares well with some of the others I have owned.

Next Is a Desantis nemesis pocket holster, The price is fair at $20 from Cabelas, and the draw from most of My pants is fast and the holster is left behind inside the pocket as it should be. The only problem is it seems to print worse in some pockets more than others, I know the CM 9 is pushing the limits of what a pocket pistol should be, with that said, it seems to look more like a pistol in your pocket with the holster than without but that could be due to different materials, size of the pocket etc. I wore it to our Independence Day parade in plaid shorts and never felt it printed badly enough to be made . Im still on the fence in regards to the nemesis, I need more milage with this one.

Hope this helps.

One more point on the Nemesis, The draw from levi 501's is not so good the holster stays put, but the back of the slide hangs up on the fabric just under the rivet, You have to fiddle with it a bit to complete removal of the CM9.

All my other levi jeans, Dockers, cargo pants, shorts etc , seem to be fast from the pocket.

The best, most secure and by far most comfortable IWB holster for these little Kahrs is the PJ Kydex IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). Do a search here and you will find that I am just one of dozens of fans of these holsters, and of Paul - the great guy who makes them.

For pocket carry, the holster that I found prints the least with the CM9 is the El Paso Pocket Max (http://www.epsaddlery.com/c-22-pocket-holsters.aspx). Shop around and you can find it in the mid $30s.

When drawing from the pocket try putting your strong hand thumb over the back of the slide towards the rear sight. It makes the back of the slide less prone to catching. I have found that I can't pocket carry my CM9 in jeans, the pockets are just too small. Then I usually go to an LCR with boot grip. But I rarely wear jeans now.

I like the Nemesis and use one for pocket carry of my .380. However for pocket carry of my PM9 I use a Kydex holster (Alabama Holsters). My PM9 in my Kydex holster is no thicker than my P3AT in the Nemesis. Pocket size and pants material can make a big difference in whether or not your pocket pistol will print. I can, for example, carry my Glock 26 in a Nemesis and in my cargo pants slash pockets and only print if I sit or kneel down.

Bill K, how is the leg side of that kydex pocket holster you like? I had an aholster kydex pocket holster for my CM9 (which I love with my G26) but the molding around the slide release and mag button would irritate the heck out of my thigh when I walked.

I encountered this myself. It eventually caused me to start making my own holsters. You can see some on the post below that is entitled "custom holsters". There you can see the last pocket holster I made for my cm9. It breaks up the print nicely and can be worn iwb as well. I still have the same problem with the slide catching. Next im gonna try an all kydex and a rough side out leather. If anyone has any input feel free to give it. the trial and error process might be much shorter with more people sharing ideas.

Is it possible that the clip is meant to clip on the waistband of your pants and not the belt?

I ask because I have an Alessi Talon Plus clip-on holster that I bought years ago on Kahr's website. I hated it because the clip wouldn't fit over any reasonably thick belt.

Then I read on Alessi's website that the clip is meant for the pants waistband and not a belt. The belt goes over the outside of the clip and sandwiches it between the belt and waistband.

I tried it the way Alessi meant it to be used and I now love it. I actually felt kind of stupid for trying to clip it to my belt for about 15 years. Then when I tried clipping it to the top of my pants, I realize what a brilliant design it is.
