UPDATE: Got it back, it is working perfectly. It has replaced my current carry gun.

I just purchased a Kahr CM9 the other day, and the gun feels pretty good, it's accurate!

However when I took it to the range for the 200 round break in, I left a little concerned. I wasn't worried about the one stove pipe I had, that was expected during break in.

But I had, probably 10-15 times throughout the 200 rounds, failure to feed. The bullet would nose dive beneath the feed ramp.

All three magazines I have did this. The 6 rounder that came with the gun occasionally, the 8 rounder I bought moreso, and the 7 rounder almost every single shot.

I'm not sure if maybe the gun just doesn't like my ammo I was using? Winchester White Box 115 grain standard pressure.

I notice that if I pull a round out of the magazine, the next round tends to move forward a bit.. putting itself in a position where I can see how it nose dives.

Any thoughts? If it's just the ammo that's fine, I can understand a little gun being picky. I really like the gun otherwise.

The 7 round mags are notoriously bad. I had two that were terrible. My 6 round mag has always been perfect. The fix to the problem for me was to modify the follower. There is a thread about the mod here.http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=6943&page=2
Also, there is a ridge on the follower that can catch and hang up at the mag release button. You may want to sand that down so it doesn't hang up. Easy to test. Just take off the slide and take the base plate off of the mag and remove the spring and follower. Insert the empty mag until it locks in place. Now push the follower through the mag using the spring. If it catches on the slide release just sand it until you can push it through easily without resistance.

Those two things completely fixed my 7 round mags. They function perfectly now.

go to the kahr prep section ad hit on the propper preping of ur kahr there is a section therethattalks about the magazinefollower getting caught on the mag release button. takes 5 minutes to check out. the secondround riding forward in the magazine is normal. I doubt if it is the ammo wwb is good stuff. what roundin the magazine does it seem to do this also. like round 2/3, which if so is an indication of the follower grabbing.

I have received my replacement recoil spring assembly. The problem is not solved.

It took almost two weeks for them to get it to me.
I wrote them back and we'll see where this goes from here. I hate to be all negative here, but I am not happy that I bought a Kahr right now.

I'm not surprised that it didn't work, what with all the talk about magazine followers nose diving, but I maintain that it is not my place to be modifying my new gun to make it run properly.

Hopefully Kahr fixes it in one trip to the factory, because I really need a reliable carry gun and wont wait months on end for it.

I would love to post in the "Kahr PM and CM Series Positive Feedback - Post Yours!", but until I have positive feedback I just don't have any business being in there. :(

I know you had quite a few mags rolling, but did you make sure the springs were in properly? Ive read (here) that if the springs are backwards that can cause FTF, and some factory mags have been received with backwards springs. Shot in the dark but wanted to mention it. Keep us posted please.

I am keeping positive thoughts about this. I'm sure Kahr will get it working right. These CM9s are such solid performers, with rarely a problem. So I expect to see these problems ironed out.

One thing I have always done with semi-autos and especially with these Kahrs is to slap the back side of the magazine against my other hand to get the bullets slid all the way back. I do this after loading a mag and before I insert one in the gun.
