Just got back form the range with my shiny new CW45. Fired 50 flawless rounds of WWB 230 GR. I would have liked to shoot more but I had my 9 yo daughter with me and she lost interest after 15 minutes. One thing that really surpsised me was the recoil, or lack of it rather. I brought my CM9 along just to do a side by saide comparison and the CM9 seemed a lot snappier than the 45. Groups were tight (for my shooting anyway). I am extremely pleased thus far. I cant wait to send 150 more rounds downrange so it can be judged "reliable" and become my consttant companion!
I have a Tucker IWN "texas heritage" on order as well so hopefully by the time it gets here I'll be through the break in period.

Thanks! I have several CBST but here lately the position in which I wear them, the front edge (below the clip) tends to rub my hip bone for some reason and gets uncomfortable after 3-4 hrs. Maybe I'm jsut getting soft in my old age!

frame on that cw45 to. that helps alot and u gotta remember that 45 is crawling out of that barrel to, so fokking slow, that u have alot of time down range to run ad move the target to where the bullet is gonna land. With the 9's, ain't that way. Just sayin.

Sounds like you got a winner.

Are you using a three finger grip on the .45 and a two finger on the 9mm?

One thing I did want to run by you "experts". When I was cleaning it after the intial range visit I noticed a little ding/burr... something right it the area at the end of the slide between the hole where the recoil spring sits and the hole where the barrel goes, sorta like a little chunk was taken out. It's entirely possible it was there before firing but I didnit notice it. It's probably fine but I wanted to throw up here in case it was an indicator of somehting else. I compared it to my CM9 and P9 but neither had it but of course that area is a lot thicker on the 9mm. I should have take a pic but I already put it back together.

Hey I have 2 so far. that 45 round os like getting by a dump truck at 4o miles an hour. Not much speed but you end up crushed.

Watch the hiccock 45 youtube where he's shooting that big gong at 80 yards and they are zoomed in. You can see the bullet going through the air before it hits the gong.

I don't have the notch, is that a big deal? What is it's purpose and what are the problems that can be caused without it?

Should I be concered that the slide hasnt been machined to include a notch? It shot fine at the range so what issues can this lead to?

Not a big deal if it works leave it as is. My notch is a lot smaller than some I've seen pics of.

Mostly it's Jocko - I don't think he shoots them well. Oh wait, that can't be it because he doesn't shoot his PM9 well either according to him.

Personally, if I can't carry a 45, I'll just carry a big rock.

There is just something special about shooting a slow moving block of lead down range!

I got my CW45 for my time in the woods, camping, and will use it for home protection. It was lighter than a 1911 and still shoots the .45. I looked at an officer size 1911 for the longest or a sig but the Kahr is lighter and love that trigger.

I alternate carry my .380 and 9mm depending on where around town I'm going and what I'm wearing. I carry the CW9 more than anything else. I may add the .45 but that will be OWB under a button up shirt.

I have got to find me a good gun belt that I like wearing all the time too.

A valid point I just wasnt sure if it could cause issues later. I wasnt sure if it was something that got progessively worse and what thepurpose of the notch is.
And as far as the "caliber war" for some reason I seem to shoot the .45 better than the 9mm or the .40. Go figure

All day every day I wear my Amish made thick leather belt with roller buckle, and I have never liked a belt so much! :) I have 2 of them; one plain and one eagle print.

I emailed Kahr and they said
1. The notch SHOULD be there (it's there for barrel clearance)
2. If the Notch isnt there it wont affect performance or reliability
3. The notch will eventually be there due to the barrel hitting it.
I couldnt get a clear answer from them on if I notched it myself would it affect the warranty. Kinda makes me wonder though If the barrel is going to be hitting it and eventually wear it into a half moon shape then it cant be doing the barrel any good?
