I'm new to the forum after picking up my used CW4543 at a show in Sarasota not too long ago. When I say used, I mean the previous owner put one mag through it and decided it was too much and traded it back in the next day, so this thing is pristine...and with an extra mag for $320 out the door...no complaints here!
I haven't taken it to the range to break it in yet, but have a couple hundred rounds of Winchester FMJ to do that with and once that's done, I'd like to carry my favorite Speer Gold Dot 200 grain +P JHP but not sure how the CW will hold up to these high pressure loads. I've put them through my Glock 21 with no hassles and carried them as my regular duty load in my custom Les Baer SRP but sure don't want to risk having a blow out. Can't really find anything specific about this so thought I'd ask here.
Also, I'm sorta old school in that when I carried my 1911, I was used to doing a sorta half-feed to check and see if a round was chambered, and could do this with my Glocks pretty easily too. With my new CW45, if a round is chambered, the slide is very tight and I can't do a round check the old way (slide moves easily with no round chambered). I would have to believe that the extractor is impeding the slide, by design or not, and was wondering if anyone has augmented theirs for easier slide flow? Again, sorry if these sound noobish, but I'm brand new to this manufacturer and haven't read through all the info as of yet

The CW45 is rated for +P loads. Shouldn't be any problem. I had to get a new recoil spring after only about 500 rounds of standard ammo for the gun to cycle some Golden Sabre 185gr +P without them without jamming.

And welcome to Kahrtalk. I think that was a very good price you got on that.

Congrats on the purchase. put a few hundred rounds through it and it should loosen up. I don't have a problem press-checking my CW45.

have a live round in the chamber the extractor will stick out somewhat instead of being flush with the slide. that tells u, u have a round in the chamber. Kahr recoil springs are 18# + ur glock recoil spring is 13#. no doubt u can move the glocvk slide back alittle easier. U will adjust, what ur stating is a non iissue, just something that you as of yet hav enot adjutsted to. Certainly after a few hundred rounds u will also be ableto move the slide a tad back to visualy check. Kahrs are tight, appreciate that part to.

Yep, just what everyone above said. That CW45 will loosen up nicely after a couple of range sessions. Give it 200 rounds and the slide will be real smooth. Do a good clean and lube before if you haven't already before you head out.

By the way, welcome to the forum.
