What are some preferences for carry ammo for a cm9? Any that it doesn't like?

Don't own a CM9 but they are +P rated and seems like they are not ammo fussy.
I personally like;
Speer GDHP 124 +P,
Winchester Ranger T-Series 127 gr +P+,
and
Federal HST 124 Gr +P.
Some will argue that +P is unnecessary.
And +P+ isn't even SAAMI.
The standard pressure rounds are very good.
And being proficient is more important than power.
You need to try them out and see that they function reliably.
And that you can get quick follow up shots.
It's nice to have SD and target ammo that are alike too.
Also, I'm a freak of nature and actually like to determine if one weight/make
of ammo groups better than others.
Sometimes particular guns will favor a particular round.
That's just Barth being Barth...
But for Self Defense your really looking to quickly and reliably put rounds in center mass.

+1 to everything Barth said! (he seems to be a pretty smart guy!) :D
But nothing is better than shooting the rounds yourself. Testing a lot of SD ammo can get expensive quick, So ide recommend trying a couple variations of 115gr, 124gr, and even the loved/hated 147gr in cheaper full metal rounds, to see which you prefer/shoot better, then move to one of those in HP rounds and try a couple to see which you really wanna go with. Also, theres a lot of info and testing around the wonderful web on SD ammo. Just my .02

I haven't found any my CM9 did not like. I tend to run Gold Dots or Win PDX1 through mine.

+2 to what Barth says. My favorite 3 rounds for my G26. Standard Pressure or +P are both very good choices. :)
My PM9 is not ammo sensitive at all. It eats anything I run thur it at any power level.
Currently my preferred carry load is the short barrel version of the Speer GD 124 gr. +P HP.
I just tried 50 rds. of the new Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr. non +P FlexLock load. 100% function in my PM9 also. Excellent accuracy from the little Kahr. I would however like to get the 135 gr. bullet over 1000 fps.
Yesterday I ordered 100 rds. of the Hornady CD +P loading hoping to do just that.
You won't know what loading works the best out of your CM9 until you try the ones that look good to you.

It's not a CM9, but I run 124gr Hydra Shoks in my small 9mm because they are said to mushroom at lower velocities than some other hp bullets.

all above rounds are great and all above round SHOULD work ok, but u need to put a box of 50 defense rounds down range IMO to be confident that all is OK. Everyone has their preference but no doubt Gold dots prevail most of the time, Just a good ol tried and proven round. Why reinvent the wheel..
If not 50- rounds minimum 25:blah::blah: I realize ammo is not cheap, butneither is ur life..

For 9mm , I prefer using Speer Gold Dots or CorBon 115gr +p loads.
Right now I have 124gr gold dots (non +p) in my CM9.
