This would be fun to try. I like pistol caliber carbines. I have a Ruger PC4. I've never seen much use for a rail on a pistol, but I see something new every day.

That is kind of cool. It would be cooler if you pop in a longer barrel. I'd like to try it, but I don't think I would buy it.

I have heard a rumor that one of the makers of such conversions is fighting the ATF on them being an SBR, using the argument that the law specifies that the barrel be permanently fixed for it to be an SBR. Of course it is not in these kind of conversion units. If they win it would be nice as this is an inexpensive way to set up a nice home defense carbine. I have a feeling the ATF will prevail though.

This sure doesn't get any more velocity like a longer barrel would. I just kind of like the out of the box thinking, where the rail on the pistol just isn't to mount stuff on, it is used here as an adaptor to mount the pistol on something.
I do question how accurately the sites would align after remounting or just how solid they are. But, close in, it is probably fine.

I'm with johnh on this. While this would be really a good thing to have for my CZ Phantom, I don't think that this is going to fly with the ATF especially if you can get the shoulder stock (or even make one).
