So at the ripe old age of 25, I finally decided to purchase my first AR... a Stag Model 3 to be exact.
This is their optics and accessory ready carbine with the Diamondhead Versa Rail System...
Does anyone have any suggestions of what to get for iron sights? I would love to get a set of Diamondhead Diamond Sights, but I am wanting the taller front sight to be mounted on the gas block and they seem to be on backorder at this time and I am not sure I am willing to wait to start shooting this thing!
An EOTech will be in the future, but I would like some BUIS in the meantime.
Any other suggestions?

I saw a Hickok45 video on a FN SCAR 17S

Not really into AR type guns, but this baby looks ()*&_(*&_!
I could change my mind on this...
I'm way too old 55 and mad as hell about it.

+1 on the Magpul sights. The rear sight has the large and small apertures. I have the rear flip up sight on my 6920. I can lower 1/3 co-witness through my Eotech ESXP-3-4. Dead on.
If you are going with Eotech, I would suggest getting one of the ESPX series with quick release mount as they sit higher so you can get that lower 1/3 co-witness. It keeps the screen from being cluttered. Now if you are going flip up front as well, then it really won't matter.

Troy also makes some great BUIS, but they will cost ya. They would be great if I was never going to use an optic. For my AR, the Magpul rear sight is perfect.
Let's see some pics!!!

Thanks for the replies! Ended up calling Diamondhead this morning and was informed that they did have a couple of sets available with the slightly taller front sight to fit on the gasblock, so I ended up ordering a set. Can't wait to get them. The sight picture they give is outstanding.

the flip-up buis sights are great backup sights but i ended up upgrading to a more solid set of sights because my club does shoots at 265yds iron sight only and the folding sights (samson) werent holding enough of a zero. i ended up with the RRA tactical carry handle which has enough elevation allow a quick-disconnect scope to see over the front sight post. now i have to get around to ordering a smaller peep and pointed or fiber optic front sight to make it more precise. this is a pic of what i used but there a bunch of co's making a version of this that has the sight without the riser if you dont need it.
