My new MK9's slide keeps locking back with rounds in the magazine.
I finally figured out the problem.
The magazine has the big cut out on the top front edge, the second round in the magazine has space to jump forward and actuate the slide lock lever.
Is it a design flaw or not?
Thanks.

not a design flaw, u got a bad magazine it sounds like. call ahr and ask to exchange it, stateur issue to them. The second round in the kahr magts does move forward, that is in all kahr mags. is this happein g with standard fmj ammo or defense ammo??? Rounds should not touch that slide lock lever on the inside.. check to see if that part # 28 slide stop spring is located correctly in the slide stop lever, or if possably it couldbe bent out of whack. There is a photo toturial on the kahr tech section under cw45 fixes that shows what it should look like I am mor einclined to think ur issue is there more than magtazine related..
I would not rule out the ol thumb thing eithe.r so try shooting the gun leftr handed to see if it happens as u ddescribe. U just need to eliminate the possabilities and the thumb thingt has happened before--alopt.

Yup, I checked the spring, I tried to reenforce it a litte but it does fatigue very easily though. Even with enforced spring, the second round comes up pretty strong, it could actuate the lock anyways.
I do pay attention to my thumb not to interact with the release lever.
I still don't see it is necessary to have that big of a cut in the top front of the magazine though.
Thanks for the reply! I will contact Kahr for new magazines.

Just bend it downward a little bit, so that it has more power to force the lever down.
