The glock 26 is like the pretty girl you grew up with that lived next door. You know what you are getting, no surprises. She may not be a super model, but you know she is a quality person with low maintenance and can spend the rest of your life with.
From my limited experience, but lots of research the cm9 is like the hot girl you met when you moved to the big city. You are going to have to work for it. She has her own attitude and way of doing things and you need to work hard at the beginning to get her to notice you and then respond to you. If you play your cards right and are patient, it can really pay off, but it is a process.

Don’t have a G26 or a CM9.
But I do own a Glock G27 and a Kahr MK40 Elite.
The Kahr did require a 200 round break in for reliable operation where the Glock did not.
But after a trip or two to the range for break in,
my Kahr has been no more high maintenance than my Glock.
After break in my Kahr has matched the Glock in reliability.
And in my hands is more accurate and easy to shoot.
The single stack micro fits in my pocket much better too.
Stainless single stack micro vs polymer double stack sub-compact.
They are different guns I enjoy owning and carrying for different reasons.

I Like my glock 26 well enough and it has been100% reliable, but pretty it ain't. It has all the beauty of a 6-1/2 " piece of railroad track. Now my green eyed Kahr PM9 with night sights that's a different story it is a beauty plus it's been as reliable as my glock. Now if i had to go to battle with one of them I'd take the ugly one. It's a little larger and feel that it could take more abuse with less maintenance. Having said that though for average everyday carry the PM9 works for me. Both good guns that for me anyway serve a different purpose. Kahr on the hip Clock in the truck or in the saddlebags.

Don't get me wrong, I was not dogging the cm9. I really like it, but its a little frustrating to have to sand the follower and the inside of the mag lips to get it to be where it should have been in the first place. I have a feeling it will turn out great, just more time and effort to get it to the same place as the glock already came. I got the cm9 for a specific pocket carry and look forward to 100 percent reliable.

most require nuttin, in ur case hoefuly ur good to go. Not likeit took u 3 weeks to do that follower thing eiter. I love my G19 deadly accurate,It has been back once to glock. I t rust it, I trust my PM9 (both of them) just as much. in a SHTF scenario I willo take my glocke not becuase I truse ti more but 15 rounds trumps 7 any day of the week. If my G19 fit in my front pocket as perfect as my PM9 does, it would be there, simpley because of capacity. U really didn't need to do anything tothe mag lips, I suggested that to you when u have the magazine apart. they squeeze alot more sh!t in these smallas frames than they do the big guns. more room moree than likely less issues. If I didn't think my pM9 was the best pocket gun to carry, it would not be there. accept the teething of a kahr and just move on with it... Hopefuly ur issues are behind u,if not maybe time to call and talk to kahr CS and get their opinion.
My new Porsche broke down at 600 miles, yup pissed me off, that was 4 + years ago. today I never really think about it. Sh!t happens. Normally if one never has a problem with any product,,, it is usually becuase they never bought anything

I was at the range one day when a youngster asked if I'd like to shoot his new Glock. I told him thanks, but no thanks, because I'm a 1911 man. He told me that 1911's were for fat, bald headed, old men. After I shot the center out of my target rapid fire he changed his statement. He now says that 1911's are for fat, bald headed, "dangerous" old men. I shot his Glock just to make him as happy as he made me.

Nice, Good thing I found the girl in the big city. Although technically I knew her when I was a kid, so I get the best of both worlds.
I know a lot of people don't like the looks of the glocks, but I think they look pretty good. Nothing like a dolled up 1911, but for the polymer crowd I think it works.

If you've kept track of some of the best looking girls in the hood, you know that most of them end up thick and ugly and put out for many "owners". They also have had a lot of "aftermarket accessories." The simple and average girls are the ones that end up being the sexiest and most reliable. Maybe your analogy is correct...
Don't get me wrong...I like "aftermarket" stuff!

I actually think Glocks look good.
My baby turned a few heads.

I don't own a CM9 but I do own a PM9.
I don't own a G26 (I've fired a few however) but I do own a G27 that I've had for 16 years now. It has been 100% since day one.
There are many Kahr CM9 and PM9 pistols that can only wish they were as reliable as my G27 has been.
The G27 did not require a 200 rd. break in. I did NOT have to "rack" the slide 500 or more times before firing it for the first time.
I did not have to sand or modify the mags in any way to get them to drop free or work 100% in the pistol. The followers have never broken...never.
I don't worry about the recoil assembly being too short, too long or malfunctioning in any way. When needed, pop in a new unit and shoot.
Of the 5 mags that I have for my G27, none have split and they are as old as the pistol itself.
No, it ain't pretty but pretty don't cut it in a defensive pistol...100% reliability does and that all that counts.

I have a CM9 and a G30 (little bigger than a G26).
The beauty of the CM9 is, I can carry it everyday regardless of dress. To me, the G30 is somehting most people have to dress around as it will always be IWB or OWB. It is an awesome weapon a 13 round mag of .45. I have handled the G26 a good bit, and I find I would also have to IWB the thing, so the CM9 works best for me in 99% of all applications.

Yup, Yup.
It's not that you can't carry a G26 in your pocket.
But most pants I wear not so much.
Belt gun vs pocket gun really.
Two different animals and I need both.

For me, the CM9 is a belt gun, not a pocket gun. In my pocket, the printing is terrible. But the real nail in the coffin is the difficulty I have drawing the gun from my tight jeans pocket. And fugeddaboutit if I am sitting down. :frown:
But the CM9 is so much easier to conceal on my belt than a Brick (Glock). :D

I have a cm9 and a glock 19. My brother has the glock 26
Reliability- Glock wins. Period. End of discussion
Concealability- cm9 wins. Period. End of discussion
Translation: The glock stays at my bedside at night where I trust it to go bang if needed. The cm9 goes with me when I leave the house. Especially in the summer with light clothing.

with ur physical ailments footin I will agreewith you but for me my PM9 is my pocket gun, It doesnt print in my mind anyway and I carry in jeans 24/7. I often stick infron of the uncle mikes pocket rig even a fluffed up hanky to hide any sense of a print, although, IMO no one is looking. fast draw areait ain't bue it beast dressing tocarry and if I was gonna waste band carry it would be a higher capacity semi, not a 7 shot. Just sayin. I have never read yet of a person getting blasted to hell and back because he couldnbot draw his pocket gun. A scenario that just ain't gonnahappen. If a BG knows ur carryin, he will justup and shoot ur ass, end of story..:behindsofa:

Exactly! ;)
For me it's the G27 instead of the G26 and a PM9 instead of the CM9.

Yup +1
I wear them both on the hip, just on different ocassions. Very rarely do I front pocket carry a pistol and when I do it's usually around the house and it's a P3at. Don't like the fact that I have to be standing to get to my gun. On the hip at the 830 position (left handed) I know exactly where it is.

Yep, love my G26. It has become my favorite to carry by far, with my N82 Tactical Professional Model Holster I picked up a couple months ago. Used to not carry the G26 much in summer because I hated the grip rubbing/gauging my skin, and didn't want to wear any under garment. With this very light & very comfy holster, I wear the G26 100% of the time leaving the house, as any T-shirt or Hawaiian type shirt covers it very well. Belt clip is sturdy & adjustable for wear around the waistline & is even tuckable, if needed. In cooler weather with a coat, I'll switch to a simple slide or Fobus Paddle Holster for carry. Love the 100% reliability & versatility of my G26! :)

I love my G27 and MK40 on a belt.
Actually prefer J-Frames in the pocket.
In Florida, during the week, with a tucked in dress shirt and slacks,
belt carry is not an option.
So its S&W 342 ti or 640-1 to the rescue.
I find drawing a revolver easier and faster from the pocket for some reason...
Really can't beat the firepower of the G27 compared to the MK40.
But as for reliability the Glock has been ~99.99% and the Kahr 100%.
Of course my revolvers are truly unmatched for absolute reliability.

I had both guns. The G26 was good but hard to conceal-- just too thick, the CM9 was always shooting low plus hands did not fit on pistol. I guess its just personal preference.

I have them both and love them both. I use them based on circumstances. Today I had to choose which one to use for ccw qualification. I chose the G26. I just have a little more confidence in it and have shot it more.
So...the ugly girl went to the dance today.

I have a pm9 and a glock 19 and have to say both have been very reliable. Love them both and use them the same way you do. They both serve me well for what I bought them for..May not make me popular on this forum but if I could only own one I would probably have to go with the glock. :behindsofa:

I had a G19 before I hadmy PM9 and I never dressed to carry, so basically,I wasunarmed most all the time. When I GOT MY pm9 IT WAS and is my 24/7 carry peace, pocketable all the time. So my vote has to be my Kahr simply because it is with me 24/7. I tend not to wrry as much when in my home as I do on the streets. Ireally outta buy one of those Taurus Judge in3" for bedside manners. Safer for in home use and deadly as hell, and accuracy not near as important as s single round coming out of the end of the barrel. Just sayin..
and oh yes wheel guns tend to go off when needed 99.995% of the time to.
