View Full Version : The only P9 in the world!

Well the only one I hear about anyway. Everything seems to be CW or CM now. Not that I have anything against them. I might have bought a CW9 if they were available when I got my P9. So I'm the last person in the world still carrying a P9. That would go with the fact that my daughter says I'm driving the last standard transmission in the known world. Just checking to see if there are any more P9s left. ;)

I've seen a few. There was one at the gun store when I bought the 2nd P380 for her... the P380 was on sale. I would rather she had a P9 or CW9, but she could barely work the slide on MY P380. I CC my P40 sometimes and use metal bases on the carry mags, with a 7-round extended grip mag for spare carry. The K and P/CW models are perfect-sized and natural pointing pistols.
I did see some at the last gun show, too, but at $600+.

Just got my P9 about a month or so ago. I got the all black version. I drive an automatic though. :D

Nah, I know two people off the top of my head that carry a P9 as a backup on duty. One of them drives a stick, the other drives an automatic.
I've only owned manuals. Current car is a 6 speed stick. I'll drive a manual until these numbnuts manufacturers stop makin them. And they will.

I carry a P9 as my primary CCW. Haven't had my TP9 long enough (cold weather) to carry it, but I will be carrying it once I have more clothing on to deal w/ the bigger grip.
I had a PM9, didn't like the size, too small for my hands. Love my P9, it'd be the last handgun I'd sell if push-came-to-shove in personal finances.
I had the same thought awhile back and the P9 folks came out of the woodwork. So they are still around and plenty of them. But the quality of the CW/CM is so good and at that price point, hard to not buy one when standing there comparing. So yea, lots of CW/CM folks around now too.

I agree completely. The only reason I have my P9 is that CW was not on the books in 2002. However, since I already have it I'm not going to switch.

I don't think a 3" polygonal rifled barrel makes a bit of difference, IMO. But the DLC finish, factory night sights and especially the dovetailed front sight are desirable features in the P/PM series for those who can comfortably afford the price difference. For those, like me, who can live with the front sight limitations, a black Duracoat or Ceracoat finish to the slide of a CW/CM can be purchased for way less than the price difference.
The only thing I can't tolerate is the insinuations that there is a difference in the quality of the machining or assembly of the guns - that the CW/CM guns are junk or something. So totally not true.

I wanted a P9, (over a CW9), for the above reasons, especially the sight choices and all black color. I prefer a polygonal barrel but the lack that feature would never be a deal killer. The other differences; roll marks, machining, etc., are meaningless to me personally.

Does the gun go bang every time you pull the trigger? Can you hit what you point the gun at? Is the gun easily concealable? That's all that's important to me. The rest is fluff.

In a nutshell! That's what's important, but I like the looks and feel as well.

My wife carries one. I carry two of them. Never hurts to have extra bullets. Except if you get shot with extra bullets. That's the one exception to the rule there.

I've got one... switch with my PM9 for EDC.
Got a deal I couldn't refuse for both or I would have C's

word is that Ben Laden had a P9 and it jammed and the seals kel teks didn't and he took two for the team- so to say. Some of this could be rumor. I think it was Joe Biden who started that story. Just sayin.

OMG. It looks like I might be buying a "new to me" truck with an automatic. I've been told the worst part about switching from standard to automatic is having to put on those pink, lace panties first. Is that true?
