On the rare times when I do carry, my MK9 is with me. It's the right size, albeit a bit heavy.

A pair of black Kahr P9's with 2 extra magazines. Never hurts to have extra bullets. Unless those bullets are the ones being shot at you. That would hurt.

ive been finding myself more and more tucking my PM9 IWB appendix or pocketing it for yard work and quick trips to the gas station....
when time permits i carry my G17 all the time, but for some quick trips or local errands when i jump in some ratty old shorts and a t-shirt the PM9 fits in very well.

Same here when working in the yard I have my PM9 in my pocket. When I am dressed for work it is also in my pocket (I have to wear business attire with tucked in shirt). When dressed in jeans and not at work I carry my G23.

I carry my K9 in either a Bianchi 6D ATB which I either just drop in my pocket or clip inside the pocket.

Well a little steel wool in the can or better yet muffler bedding, a piece of tubing with some holes and seal the end and you might be on to something. The concept is good, I like that. Damn boating accident.

I CC a Taurus 709 Slim, using a local made cross-breed type holster for IWB, or a SneakyPete OWB holster (looks like an I-pad case). When my K9 shows up, I expect it will become at least an equal CCW - it's why I am getting it.

As a result of a combination of some new pistols coming to the market and a perpetual desire for another gun, or two, or three, or . . . we reevaluated our defensive gun inventory late last year. The wife & I spent a few days at the range comparing our ability to engage targets rapidly and accurately with both our old guns and several new guns. For us, it is critical that we are accurate at full combat speeds - there's no time for bullseye shooting in a self-defense situation. Interestingly, we were able to be both faster and more accurate with a couple of the new guns, so we decided to make major revisions to our inventory. Listed in order of frequency of carry, along with some comments about the decision.
His:
1. Springfield XD-S 45 ACP
Just in case it's not obvious, I've replaced my Kahr PM40 with the Springfield XD-S. Right out of the box, I was more easily accurate with the XD-S that I was with my long established EDC gun.
2. Sig 1911 Ultra
Of all the sub-compacts we've owned (≤ 3.5") the 3.25" Sig is the nicest shooting overall. The 1911 platform isn't for beginners or anyone not willing to practice, and it's heavier than a polygun (33.0 vs 26.2 for the XD-S), but the thin 1911's disappear under ordinary garments and are so nice to shoot.
3. S&W M&P 9c, 9mm
I'm not a fan of double-stacks for CCW because they tend to print, plus the thicker guns aren't as comfortable IWB. I liked shooting the Glock 26 a bit more than the M&P because the finger grooves helped with my purchase on the gun, however the blocky Glock isn't as comfortable so the M&P came out on top.
4. Sig P938 Extreme, 9mm
Short of carrying a 380, the little Sig P938 is a sweetheart to carry; especially after a few mods. A little work by a Sig specialist improved the trigger as converting it to single safety. A set of thin cocobolo grips perfected it. The P938 fills the hand like a Kahr K9, but it is soooo much thinner. In addition to a nice trigger, the little Sig has a full hand grip and excellent front strap checkering so it doesn't try to move around in my hand. Recoil is surprisingly mild - softer than a PM9. And the slide is easy to rack - a perfect CCW for the gal that's familiar with the 1911 platform.
5. Dan Wesson Guardian, 9mm
While I normally prefer a smaller/lighter CCW, the DW Guardian is only 1.5 oz heavier than the smaller Sig 1911, and 3 oz heavier than the double-stack M&P 9c. The coup de gras is shooting - shooting the Guardian with +P+ loads is like shooting the M&P with soft target loads. FYI: the DW ECO is similar but the thumb safety protrudes on the ECO and digs into the thumb knuckle. Ouch.
6. Ed Brown SFC, 45 ACP
I've had an itch for a Brown since forever, but could never make up my mind which model (Exec or Kobra), and black or SS. Finally across a gun shop that had several so could compare them side-by-side. The Special Forces Carry in SS won. My go-to gun anytime my itinerary includes undesirable neighborhoods.
7. Sig P238, 380 ACP
Coat pocket carry when the larger gun is buried under layers of cold-weather clothing. Or for those times when the dress code just doesn't leave enough room for a larger caliber gun.

S&W M&P Shield, 9mm

My Glock 19. I've decided I'm happier carrying a larger frame/longer barrel gun that I'm more accurate with at distance. I'm lucky enough to live in a state where "printing" doesn't matter. I wear clothes that fit, so it's pretty easy to spot even if I'm carrying IWB. Should the need arise that no one needs to know I'm carrying, I carry the fiancé's LCP with in an ankle rig or IWB

Wow! This is an OLD thread. 09-07-2009, 01:45 AM. I only had a K9 since early 1998 and wasn't really carrying anything around the house back then. I was carrying my stainless Interarms TPH .22LR loaded with Stingers as my EDC then.
I HAD ordered a P380 with NS in April or June and in January 2010 I got my first polymer Kahr the popular PM9 DLC with NS at a gun show. I got a PM45 DLC with NS in February and then the end of March my P380 finally came in. I wear it in and around the house, so it's the one I carry the most. Loaded with 6+1 Stingers, the TPH weighs about 1/10 ounce more than the P380 loaded with 6+1+7 +P Buffalo Bore 90-grain Gold Dots. It's a much better package for my home EDC and short trips or where I need minimum size for concealment... doctor/dentist visit!
Lately, I've been carrying my P9 DLC with NS and ported barrel... 7+1+8 124-gr +P GDSB, and sometimes the PM45 with 5+1+7 230-gr GDSB.

Ruger SR40 = home defense weapon. She's pining for a Mossberg companion :-)
Ruger LCP = around the house all day. I work from home.

Taurus PT111-G2 = field trips into Atlanta and such.
Evil black rifle = for when the coyotes and feral hogs come to visit....

glock 19 for when those muzzy's come u willneed more than 6 rounds. Just sayin
I have been carrying since 1993, although I had a CCP in Connecticut (!) 1972-74 and carried a Browning Hi Power, infrequently. From '93-2005 I carried various Kel-Tecs, but they were not reliable enough for me. Then I tried and loved the Kahrs.
P40 from 2005-9; then a TP9 up to 2011.
Now my favorite is the Beretta PX4 Type C .40 in Thunderwear. Sometimes with proper attire it goes AIWB. Stoked with various manufacturers' Barnes 140 grn HP (TAC-XP) bullet.
It took me a while to transition to the larger gun, including both the commitment and the clothing. Now that I'm there, it is not a problem.
I don't feel comfortable with small caliber, low capacity, DA/SA, safeties/decockers, blocky shapes, sharp edges, heavy/long trigger pulls. My carry gun must be reliable, simple to operate, high capacity, fighting caliber, and it's a plus if the same mags fit a companion carbine (CX4).

Kahr T9 or K9 just depends on which one I feel like. Don't want either one of them to get hurt feelings as I love them both equally. I carry IWB, both are equally comfortable and can shoot equally well with either.

I would think that T9 wold be a real shooter. Never had oir ever seen one but thqat would be one awesome IWB carry. I thijk it I was to hav eto buy it or the K9 which as u statedboth are equally as good as each utter but if ur gonna IWB carry, I would go with the t9. Not a popular kahr that is for sure and I think more than anything it is just that dealers don't stock it for anyone to compare it to anything. Everyone thinks kahrs are simply ccw guns so mostly what I ever see is the PM and CM and CW series. I can't remember seein a new K9 sitting in gander Mt.......

Mine is going to be the Mag-na-ported P40... again. I finally have enough confidence in the Big Dot FS and the rear Trijicon 2-dot NS.
My in-and-around-the-house gun is my P380 and I also wear it where I need maximum concealment and easy on and off... as at the doctors office. I wear an Uncle Mike's soft IWB holster and put that in my pocket when I have to disrobe.

I split my carry between a cm9 at work to a cw9 for 4 years. Retired , bought a tp40 and take became my primary cc. Hand surgery for trigger finger on two fingers and that has changed my cc. Hand does not like the recoil of the single stacks now so a M&P9 core has become my cc 2 months after surgery. Hot 124gr underwood still stings a bit but shootable for a few mags and play loads are more like a pop gun.

Sig P239 in 9mm for several years both winter and summer. If clothing allows in the winter I sometimes carry a P229, but just the 1/4" added thickness due to the double stack mag it is not as comfortable as the single stack P239. There's no "most" for me any longer. There are a lot of factors that determine what I carry including what's handy or just what mood I'm in. But 4 of the rotation are Kahrs: CM45, K40, K9 and MDE380. The only other one is a SW J-frame. I practice with all of them and they all operate the same = once holstered: draw, point and shoot. Triggers are very similar but the MDE and SW are just a little heavier than the Kahrs.
Today I was practicing with the MK9. What a great shooter. Double taps COM at 7 yards followed with a 15 yard head shot. No misses = lotsa dead targets.

Very nice.............................which one between the 2SK and the P30.????????????????????????????????????????
That's a tough call.
My 2SK is a 40 with 357 Sig barrel and mags.
Plus extended mag release.
Not really apples to apples.
Ergonomics go to the P30SK.
The Small/Medium/Large back-strap and side panel grip options are amazing.
And in 9mm it's a tack driver.
NIB trigger goes to the P2K.
But I fixed the P30SK with a Light FPBS and Match Nickel Plated Flat Sear Spring.
The two guns are both bombproof, accurate and fit in the same holsters.
Can't lose with either one.
I'd give the P30SK a slight edge with my OEM part trigger job - LOL!
BTW The P30SK 9mm seems to use the same barrel as a P2K 9mm.
So If there is a P30SK 40 S&W in the future?
My P2K 357 Sig barrel should just drop in.

I still go with my PM45 on my ankle and a 1911 on my hip. I spent the entire day yesterday at a hospital in downtown Seattle, not to be confused with downtown in Jersey. My wife getting some test done and basically wasting our day.
It's of course a gun free zone like most except it really wasn't since I had two.
While on the subject I wore my PJ holster. It didn't sing to me at first and I haven't worn it much in the year or two I've had it. I tried it again for grins and wore it all day during the aforementioned foray into the jungle.
It now sings to me loudly. Comfortable as could be wearing it for 14+ hours with an untucked shirt.
PJ hasn't been around much of late but a shout out and kudo's to him for this holster.
I have one for my PM45 I seldom wear on my hip but I'm gonna try that again too.
A officers model 1911 or full size for that matter fits perfectly in the same ankle holster so I could mix things up should the desire ever strike me.
my CM9 has replaced my G36 as my daily carry gun. it is more flexible to carry as I vary between IWB,OWB,pocket, depending upon weather, what I happen to be wearing that day; seven in the CM,seven on the belt

I normally carry my pm9……..HOWEVER, I also carry my CZ SP01 Tactical (17 +1), with suspenders (it's heavy for a 112 pound woman), when possible!
In the winter I carry a Ruger LCR 357 in my coat pocket, and another gun on my waist.
Recently I bought a FNS9c (12 + 1). I hope to make this my carry gun when I can't take the CZ. Our world has gone nuts and I would like more capacity.

Most of our officers wear suspenders. Some wear vest that carry most of their stuff. Takes weight off the hips and is easier to sit in the car. I don't like the looks of them, looks sloppy and unprofessional but I guess it's better than a bad back by the time they are 40.

I carry a Dan Wesson CCO everyday pretty much, except every once and a while I'll carry a full sized 1911 on the weekends. When I do, I wear Perry Suspenders, but you can't really tell. I wear the suspenders over a wife beater T-shirt, and then an un-tucked over sized shirt over that. I carry all the time, so always wear over sized shirts, at my age, I don't really care if people think I'm sloppy. Anyway, you never see the pistol or the suspenders. Might be true for other folks as well.

I guess some departments will give their people special permission to wear hidden suspenders.
To clarify, My SP 01 Tac. mag. holds 18 rounds but I got an aftermarket mag. that is flat on the bottom and hold 17. The 18 round mag hits me in the ribs, so I only use those at the range.

I have carried a snubby 38 for years. Carried a 2" Diamondback until I decided I didn't want to risk losing it if I had to use it. Then a S&W Model 60-4. Have switched between carrying a S&W Model 642 and Ruger LCP for quite a while now. Have never really warmed up to the 380 ACP for some reason. Recently bought a CM9 that I have gotten "broke-in". I haven't really carried it yet but will give it a shot soon. I always carry IWB. I guess I'm just one of those people that can't get used to having "stuff" in my pockets. I have a Desantis Clip-Grip on my 642 and it's just very easy to carry. Totally disappears under a t-shirt. But I am beginning to feel that 5 rounds is not enough. The world has become a place that may require more! I live in a warm environment and live in jeans and a t-shirt. But if I feel the need I wear an over shirt and carry a CZ 75D Compact (PCR) OWB with an extra 14 round mag.

I never put a gun in my pocket before and never will. Being a full time sitter I don't put anything in my pockets anymore but a gun in the pocket never made a lick of sense to me. Guess it's better than leaving at home on the dresser but just about as quick to get to. Might be alright in dress slacks with those big sloppy loose pockets but jeans or work pants, way too slow.

Just the opposite in my old age :). Carried a Colt gov't .45 IWB 40+ years ago, now only pocket carry. Of course I'm much less likely to need a pistol in my travels these days. Usually a Seecamp .32, although I bought a Kahr CM9 a few months ago in case I have to go into "Dodge City" :).

Today? Sig P229 357.
But I've got a Hk USP Compact 45 with a Stainless Steel slide inbound... :D
Full Disclosure:
During the week in business casual attire? Ruger LC9s Pro.
Tried some extended pocket carry today with the Boomer. Was working, so I got to see how it is during extended kneeling in fire art mounds, sitting in mud, swinging from one rung of a ladder, and of course, of the spurious electrical shock test.
There are no unplanned holes of .44 cal in my breeks, I'm happy to report, and the Boomer is none the worse for the wear.

Carry an FN FNS40C most often, but my Kahr CW9 isn't far behind.

I used to carry a G36 or a CM9 depending what I wore and the season; CM9 has become EDC because of flexible carry modes, strong side IWB/OWB preferred, AIWB, pants pocket,or outer coat pocket. G36 didn't work well in any of my pockets and was uncomfortable AIWB carry.
7rds. min., sometimes 8rds. in the gun, concealment garment permitting, one 7rd. extd. mag in horizontal Leatherman pouch.
the CM9 is also my competition IDPA BUG gun.

I'm new to this Fiorum, but not new to Concealed carry. I have settled (for now) on my recently acquired CW40 for the following reasons: 1) It is small enough & light enouogh to be carried concealed (no "general" open carry in my State (FL)...yet...). 2) It is very controllable and comfortable for my slightly arthritic hands, and I can shoot adequate groups with it out to 30 feet. 3) It is of sufficient chambering that I do not feel "undergunned". 4) It is sufficiently ambidextrous, I am a lefty. 4) The trigger pull is similar to that of a double action revolver, which I prefer on a civilian self-defense handgun, particularly in a model with "no external safety devices" (KISS principle) 5) I have found two sources of EXCELLENT, inexpensive holsters (left handed) for it: Braidsholsters.com and Clament Custom Leather on eBay. Braidsholsters makes very inexpensive form-fitted leather front/back pocket "no print" holsters, and Clament makes a very fairly priced all-leather "paddle" style form-fitted OWB (hip carry) model. Please check them out. 5) Lastly, and most importantly, this is THE firearm I currently possess that I feel most comfortable with, will practice with regularly, and KNOW I can shoot accurately in "the gravest extreme".
I have been shooting handguns for 44 years, I am an NRA Endowment Member and Basic Pistol Instructor since 2010. May we always enjoy the Freedom to defend ourselves.

I'll stick my little Sig P238 in my shorts pocket for a quick run to the store. Use a Desantis pocket holster. Most of the time it's a Walther PPS M2 in 9mm though. It's been flawless. Rides IWB in a Clinger Stingray. My CW45 is my truck gun. I still shoot better with it than the Walther.

I'm new to the forum, but not new to CC. My go everywhere gun is a NAA 22lr mini revolver, except of course Government buildings etc... MY usual carry gun is a S&W 9mm Shield in an Alien Gear IWB holster. MY new Kahr CT380 will be my BUG when it finally gets broken in and I find a holster that I like. I may carry the CT380 as my #1 on hot days where the Shield is tough to conceal, which is often in Southwest Florida! THe NAA will perhaps be my BUG for my BUG from time to time! I've carried it for 20 years now sometimes by itself but usually as BUG to the Shield. I would probably feel naked without it!

I've got a selection of guns.
IMHO many relatively high end.
But still working and required to wear business casual daily.
I'm restricted to pocket/ankle carry.
That reduces my options dramatically.
Have several pistols what will work in that role.
But mostly carry some of my least expensive - Ruger LC9s Pro or LCP Stainless.

I too, usually carry one of my less expensive pistols. Most of the time it's my CM45 if I can cover it. If not, it's a PM9 or LCP.

The ole CBob is still riding with me every day. Been a favorite for many years. Occasionally a switch to another 1911, MRI 1911C once in awhile, full sizes occasionally.

EDC is my Kahr P380 in a Uncle George wallet holster. In winter months I’ll break out my go to range gun, XD40SC, carried IWB, but for trips to the post office the Kahr is so much more convenient (read “discrete”) to remove and lock up, so it usually wins out. With all the active shooter activity in recent times, at least one additional mag now goes along on my person.

I've worked my way through carry pieces over the years... a AMT .380, a Smith model 60, a Colt Gov't .380, a Kimber 4" 1911 (which I quickly found I was not able to conceal adequately,) and, finally and at last... a CW9 or CM9. I carry them basically interchangeably, they swap between holsters and the CW mag fits in the CM, so I don't have to juggle mags around. A very nice High Noon OWB holster when I'm in public, a Galco IWB when I need to be sneaky. I do NOT like to carry the CM9 in the IWB holster... the stubby grip makes it very difficult to draw and present smoothly, but it beats a pistol setting on the dresser if that's what I need to carry.

PM45 all day, everyday, work or play and around the house. In a Dara IWB holster. This past April, every day of a 250 mike bike (bicycle) trip across MO.

I enjoy coming back to this thread. For me it has been almost exclusively Kahrs for a long time. Lately it's a P40. And when a slightly smaller gun helps to conceal: a PM9. You can conceal a P-series Kahr OWB under a t-shirt (with the right holster).
IMHO that's what Kahrs are all about: carry guns. It's why I switched to polymer Kahrs and sold my K40 and MK9. No regrets. The polymer guns are even thinner and lighter and carry just a little bit better.
There are probably better shooters out there. And less finicky guns for sure. And prettier guns. But a good-running, well-broken-in Kahr is a pleasure to carry.
^^^ Fanboy talk I know. But I think that's an honest assessment.

I carried a 4 inch Ruger all weekend. It took a little to get used to it but it was actually pretty comfortable. And I was able to conceal it under a sweatshirt.
It was a nice change but I’ll go back to the P40 in the am.

I gravitated toward Kahr simply because I prefer small and light relative to caliber. My most frequent EDC is my PM9 in a kydex A1Holster pocket rig.
Next would be my PM45. I also have a PM40 but for whatever reason, the other two are preferred. PM45 is my favorite to shoot, love that darn thing.
Wish Kahr would've been inclined to develop a sleek double-stack ala the P365 though. Because if/when Sig irons out the bugs with that one, it just may relegate my beloved Kahrs to back-up status.

Ive been stuffing a K9 into my pants for the past 10 years or so. I commonly outshoot guys with full size guns at IDPA matches. But I recently picked up one of those Sig 365’s. That thing is indeed a game changer if it proves to be trust worthy. All manufacturers stumble with new platform roll outs, and Kahr is no exception. But that Sig has stumbled pretty hard, according to the online clamoring. I know broken strikers on the Sig are the reason I’m still packing my K9. Maybe another 1k rounds through that Sig and those two may trade places.

There are three pistols in my rotation---My CM9(which I carry IWB about 90 percent of the time I leave the house), my CW380(which is my work carry---I wear scrubs and smaller is better) and my G43. Its a great pistol but I opt for the smaller CM9 most of the time.
I reserve my steel Kahrs for range duty. I figure proficiency with them translates to proficiency with my carry pistol, and the steel frames allow me to put more rounds downrange with less fatigue.

EDC is a Kimber Custom Covert full-size 1911 .45 with aluminum frame. Tens of thousands of rounds and lots of holster wear. Only "repairs" have been playing with recoil springs and putting oversized grip screw bushings in it.
