Went to a gun show in Charlotte yesterday...just to look. ;) We had figured our next buy would be a sig 238 for my wife but she still worries a little about recoil and feels like she wanted something with a little less to practice with until she felt "more ready". Also figured something smaller for my dtr to start with might be a good idea.. and seeing how cheap ammo was for a 22...long story short... ended up bringing home a Walther p22. Plan on going to the range tommorrow after work to try it out !!

A very good way to introduce her to firearms. Low cost 22 ammo will pay for a lot of range time.

I bought one of these for my son to use, he was 9 at the time, 11 now and lovesit. I try to get him to the range at least once a month. It's a great entry level firearm for anyone!

Thats a nice, easy gun to start out with. Has she shot before?

Took walther p22 out for a test drive today and loved it. More importantly my wife loved it :). Went through 150 rounds of cci mini mags with zero problems. Then ran another 20 rounds of cci stingers without any problems. But then tried some winchester wildcats and first one failed to eject..second round failed to feed. Cleared the gun and tried again with the same results. Went back to the cci mini mags and fired off another 50 problem free rounds.
My wife just kept saying over and over again how much she enjoyed it and it showed as she didn't tense up like when shooting my other guns. All in all very pleased with my purchase and glad my wife twisted my arm. Maybe after some more break in will try the winchester again but for now at about 6.50 for a box of a hundred rounds will be sticking with cci

Haven..yes she has. She has come a long way. When I first brought home a Glock about 7 yrs ago she didn't even want to look or touch a gun let alone shoot one. She has tried the Glock but feels like the grip is too big and has tried my pm9 and feels has too much recoil. You can really see her tense up before she shoots and really throws her aim off. We eventually plan on a sig 238 for her but think this 22 is the right gun for now until she gets more comfortable.
