Being made famous,
and having some sense of immortality due to that fame,
seems like something we do have control over.
If these people are just nameless, faceless, Dirt Bag #7
that might lessen the number of these events.
Thoughts?

The MSM would never stand for that curtailment of their 1st Amendment Rights!
Just as the news media was set up onshore with Klieg lights and live satellite-feed cameras when our Troops came ashore in Somalia, the world has a "right" to know! The terrorists could have had a really good PR day by being there as well!

The MSM would never stand for that curtailment of their 1st Amendment Rights!
... as they promote, foster and support the end to our 2nd Amendment Right. Go figure.
As to the fame of these monsters. I don't care if we hear their names or not, it won't stop these crimes. Crazy lunatics will act out of the delusional drive that has taken them over regardless of the consequences.

Agreed on the lack of name publicity. However it is a hollow/pipe/waste of time dream since the media will never stop the incessant coverage. If it bleeds it leads.

If you watched carrot top he either was putting on a good act or reality has overwelmed him thinking about those needles.

I really like the old Electric Chair myself.
Maybe a Famous Public Barbeque is the answer?
The last and lasting image of Carrot Top being lit up like the 4th of July
might well be the quality deterrent we need.
