Just picked up my CW9 which I ordered through Davidson's. This is my first Kahr. I spent the 2 weeks prior to ordering the gun, and the 2 weeks since, researching the gun on this site. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to receive what looks to be a very new production gun that is easily loaded via slingshot, mags drop free, and the magazine is tight.

In any case, I thought that I read here that the peen marks under the top of the slide indicate design changes. So, does anyone know what the significance of 3 dots peened into the slide might be?

Also, are all Kahrs supplied with such a nice high polish on the ramp and throat?

Just curious.

no changes that I have ever read about. how about a photo of those 3 dots. U just got a cw9 that is doing what everyone wants out of the box. U did ur homework. Now look up the kahr tech section and hit on two good sticky's to read and learn Most kahrs arehighlyt polished. I think they learned something from not doing it. I have never seen better polished feed ramps..

I have had a cw and cm and not been around others to compare to but the cw drops mags when I want it to. Both will slide a round into the chamber with controled slow moveing of the slide and sling too. Gone have to check on tight fit but have not notices anyags being loose. I did take some old oiled 1000 gr paper just to see if it will take much to slick up the slide and yes it will shine with out much effort. But might be tougher around the front sight. I do like the matt finish on the top anyhow.

Ill try and get a pic of the dots (need to figure out how since I dont have enough posts). I have a handful of 1911's including a pretty high end custom build. On all of them I have had to send them off and pay quite a few bucks to have the barrels throated and the ramps polished like this.

As I recall, look on the Kahr site under accessory sights, it will note that the dimples are newer production piece. The sights that fit the "old" style slide will not fit the "new" style slide. Of course I can prove my brain damage condition, so please double check this.
