I shot my mk9 Saturday and it worked great. Today I unloaded it and pulled the trigger to break it down and there was a faint click. I took the slide off and the striker channel is stuck back to the rear the firing pin is protrudind through the hole and is stuck so I pushed it back. I tried pushing the striker block down then at the same time pushing the striker back forward but to no avail. I guess I will get hold of Kahr in the morning and mail the slide back. I think the firing pin could be broken. Any opinions?

I would add that the trigger pull and final break were never as light and the final break as noticeable as on my mk40. Now it looks like there was a pending problem from the beginning.

Sorry I can't help you. However, I am interested in what Kahr may have to say when you call them tomorrow.

There's a thread here that shows breaking down the slide. It's not difficult. Would be easy to tell if the striker is broken.

I'm not understanding what you mean when you say the striker channel is stuck back?

Welcome back uncle Boss.... That is if you are back. If not, get back to your vacation!

I meant the striker assembly. When you pull the part that the cockimg cam pushes back when pulling the trigger it goes back toward the rear of the slide but won't go forward as in firing. It just stays back. Even when pushing in the striker block plate.

Look this over and ponder taking that slide down. It does sound like something is obstructing the striker and I agree that it may be broken. If that's the case a call or email to Kahr might just get you a new one headed your way.
But we're blind till you take it apart and see.
If in fact it is broken, I'd probably send a picture along to kahr and of course post it here for us to see too.

I got thru to Kahr this morning pretty fast. Spoke to the English guy whose name I didn't get but they are having the gun picked up on Monday from a postal annex near me. This is the 4th time back for this gun but it all has been simple issues just inconvenient. I will let all know when I find out what is wrong with it. Thanks for the help.

Fourth time back to Kahr? I love my Kahrs but four times is a little too much time at the "Mothership". If it's still under warranty, I would tell them it's time for a new gun.

Kerby9mm, how old is your MK9? Did you buy it new?

I bought the mk9 new in May of 2011. I called Kahr yesterday and spoke to Eoin. He said my gun was fixed test fired ok and to be shipped out to arrive on Monday. I asked what was wrong with it and he read the W/O that they replaced the striker assembly then said anything else. I then thought ok I guess I won't get an explanation of why it broke so early. I will test it next weekend and post results afterward.

I got my mk9 back yesterday with the new striker assembly. Kahr test fired it so I cleaned it and did some dryfiring. The trigger pull now is lighter and smoother than before which makes me think there was something wrong from the get go. As I stated before I am going to fire it on Saturday but I'm not worried because I haven't had a FTF or FTE before just want to make sure before I carry it. This gun has been back to Kahr 4 times now but I'm still very pleased with it.
