While reassembling my K9 I inserted the slide stop pin and now the slide will not release all the way forward and I can't get the slide stop pin out again. I can line up the notch but the pin won't come out now:mad:
Did I screw the pooch and now have to send this thing to Kahr?

Does the guide rod stick out in front?
Line up the marks and try tapping the end out with the blunt end of a screwdriver.
Pull the trigger (no mag and empty chamber) Does the slide reset?

Yes, about 3/4"
Line up the marks and try tapping the end out with the blunt end of a screwdriver.
I tried, it won't come out. I know how to get it when I took it apart, but it's stuck now.
Pull the trigger (no mag and empty chamber) Does the slide reset? The trigger is mushy, won't reset
Suggestions?

Is it possible you're behind the barrel lug instead of through it?
Sorry, I am at a loss here.
Had a similar occurrence a few weeks ago. Had spring and guide rod problem and slide locked up with guide rod poking out the end. I fiddled a bit and finally worked the pin out. Reset the spring and all was fine.
Keep working different combos. I think it's something very simple.

I think I am behind the barrel lug instead of through it. Since I can line up the notch with the slide stop pin, shouldn't it come out? Tapping it with the end of a screwdriver doesn't seem to work.

I would think so but it's possible the back part of the lug has it wedged pretty well.
I hesitate to suggest this:
With notches lined up can you work something under the lever side of the pin and pry? Screwdriver may scratch. Something like a thin piece of wood or plastic?

You are probably working against the recoil spring also. I would try pulling the slide back farther back then clamp something on the guide rod to hold the slide back. On my mk9 the pin comes out on the slide stop notch too. It has to be lined up so the top of the slide stop can come thru the slide.

No luck. I'm going to stop messing with it before I scratch it all up. I guess my options are gunsmith or Kahr. Or I might go to my local range and maybe find someone who can help.

Any chance of posting some photos?
Can upload to photobucket and post here.
Sorry I'm not more help. Hard to visualize what's happening.

Whoa, guys! There are no alignment marks on the K's... just the polymers.
You may have inserted the slide lock pin forward of the hole in the barrel lug... not good!
Check out the take down video:

My T9, MK9, and PM9 have index marks. The K9 does not. However, this sounds like the "shouldn't happen situation" that Kahr warns about in the instructions for the compact models. The problem with those is that the slide can be in the wrong place, but cover up the external part of the slide stop pin that is supposed to be exposed in the little half-moon cutout when the index marks are aligned. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HIT IT OUT from the other side if that's what's happened. Kahr says that the gun has to be returned to the factory for service when this happens. I've taken these things all apart in every way, and I can't imagine what they do to get it fixed.
OP says his gun is a K9, however. I've noticed that sometimes, when the slide stop pin is first reinserted, it takes some effort to overcome initial resistance to make the slide pull back. Other than that, I don't see how you could screw up the K9 in the way described. And you ought to be able to use a punch (of the special sort used for pushing the rounded pins used on guns, having a concave surface at the end) to tap the slide stop pin out, regardless of the position of the slide.

Had to send it back to Kahr. Expensive mistake. I have the instructions printed out right next to me so I don't do it again.
