My only son got married yesterday, 7/27. I was glad to see in honor of the event the UN small arms treaty bit the dust. What great wedding present! Now I have 3rd lovely daughter, and I hope they have some boys to even out the odds a little. The Ceremony went well, but things kind of got messed up a little afterwards, The bride forgot the marriage license, and sent her brother to get it, and he was gone over 2 hours, and for some reason, nothing could proceed until he got back. They had intended to have dancing after the ceremny, and I brought sound equipment, but for some reason everything was on hold until the brother got back, and by that time most the guests had left, so really no point in setting up the sound equipment. And the photographer about drove me crazy, I summoned for pictures about a dozen times, yet never was included in any. I guess that's what happens when you have a friend do the photos instead of a professional. The main thing is the ceremony went well, and the dinner and toasts all went pretty well. I cracked up the guests with my toast, Telling them follow their Christian values, particularly in the rocky times, then telling them to travel, and go on cruises or whatever and enjoy some time for the two of them, and then make me some grandkids! Got quite a bit of laughter on the grandkids remark. Anway, I'm glad it's over. I spent quite a bit of time gathering dance music that was tasteful, and had a nice playlist set up for the dance, but never got a chance to use it, since for some reason we couldn't proceed with anything until the brother got back with the Marriage License, so all that was a little frustrating, not to mention hauling alll that equipment in and out, and not using it. But, it was the kids day, not mine, so as long as they are happy, then I am happy for them. I suppose by now they are down in Belize, at a resort, and hopefully relaxing and doing whatever they want.

Congratulations on the growing family! My kids are far from that point yet, although there are a couple little boys chasing Jasmine around the playground at school. Gotta keep an eye on them....

My little sister just got married about a month ago. All weddings have snafu's... I had a reading to do in my sis's. I got up there and it was not on the podium. I had to be seated, the preacher carried on while a desperately borrowed someone's iPhone and had to search it up. Finally found it and carried on!

Marriage is the only life sentence where you can get time off for bad behavior! Hope your son's marriage stands the test of time. Mrs Muggsy has been by my side for 40 odd years. Not odd really, but somewhat strange. :)

Thanks for all the well wishes. The are honeymooning down in a seaside resort in Belize and having a great time I imagine.
I hope their marriage fares better than mine did. Mine kind of fell apart during my long bout of illness and chemo treatments for it. And from her expectations of what I should be able to get done around the house, after I went into remission and started feeling a little better. I wasn't able to work, and she expected to come home to a spotless house, with a manicured lawn, and I just wasnt able to keep up with her a 3 teenager's messes. No one bothered to help do anything, I was expected to do everything, and although I was in remission, I was and still am not healthy and able to do a whole lot of work at a time, and have to take frequent breaks and rest.
My Doctors never would release me to go back to work,(and still won't) so why did she figure I was able to do everything she thought I should be doing, things much more physical than my job. That still puzzles me. I guess she thought I was lazy.
But we are still friendly, in fact I just got back from her house, she had some leftovers from the rehearsal dinner she wanted me to have. During the wedding and dinner we sat together and things went really well.
