I know this says "K" series but I was wonder how many of you bought one of the original "E" series? I did.
Around 1995 or so I bought the first (and to this day ONLY) E series guns. These were carbon steel frames with a staked front sight instead of dovetailed. It was purchased at Martin B. Retting in Culver City, CA and the serial ended in 0042 so it must have been a very early gun.
This pistol was with me through thick and thin, ups and downs. I went though a very bad time when I had to sell many of my guns but for a while I lived in a bad area of SoCal and I never let go of the E9. It spent the night near my bed and it spent many night in tents in many desert and mountain camps. It came with me when I moved to TN. No gun fit my hand like that E9.
Well no gun other than a P9. Then, several months ago, I was in a shop here in TN and saw they had the CW9. I was not even looking for a gun but I was carrying my Kahr E9. I asked to see the CW9. It had a nicer trigger than the old E9. It fit my hand better. The shop gave me a very good trade in on the E9 and that afternoon my holster went home filled with the MUCH lighter CW9:o
While I regret having to sell the E9 to get this pistol it was a good move. The CW9 is a much better carry gun for me.
So.....did anyone else here start their Kahr journey with a E9?
