I am new here. Lurking in these forums definitely helped me with my decision to get a new CM9 despite the two gun shops I frequent not being fans of Kahr's in general. I picked it up yesterday and broke it down and cleaned and lubed it per the sticky in the KahrTech section. I racked the slide a few times, but was way too inpatient so I just took it to the range today. I put 150 rounds of cheap 115 grain ammo (Federal Champion and Georgia Arms factory target level stuff) and it ran flawlessly. I am very impressed with this little gun!!! The long smooth trigger pull will take a little getting used to. I was shooting it low (not low and to the left, but just low), but I believe that is just me getting used to the sights and the trigger pull. I mainly shoot glocks so I knew there would be an adjustment there.
My only real complaint is the mag release. My mag drops free but the mag release button often doesn't release the mag when I first push it. I find that what I am doing is stopping the release button from pushing through on the other side so the mag is not releasing right away. I assume this button push through design helps with not dropping the mag accidentally because if you are gripping the gun the button will not fully push through the other side. However, I have large hands and with the limited purchase I have on the gun already, I can't always get my fingers out of the way quickly on the other side of the grip as I am trying to hit the mag release. Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice on how I can better deal with it?
I can't wait to finish up the break in and get some JHP rounds through it. I also have some more mags in the mail so I am looking forward to seeing how they work. So far it has run like a champ and I am really impressed with the fit and finish of my first Kahr!!!! :D

My almost new CM9's mag release was just like that at first. Now that it's eaten several hundred rounds, it's much better. Might've been little burr on mag release where it engages mag notch? Oh and welcome!

Welcome !!! I'm fairly new here too (Feb '12) I also purchased a CM9 after much browsing through this and other sites. This CM9 is the greatest, shoots great and no (as in '0') malfunctions. Have over 2000 rounds of paper punching pleasure and hope that that is all I ever have to use it for. Good luck with your new purchase.....

Mine just keeps getting better. It's a great gun , hope you enjoy it.
I was shooting it low (not low and to the left, but just low), but I believe that is just me getting used to the sights and the trigger pull. I mainly shoot glocks so I knew there would be an adjustment there. :D
Me, too the first 150rds. Yesterday I shot 60 rds thru my PPQ then switched to the CM9 and something must may happened to my brain since the last time at the range. Last week I was consistantly throwing groups about 4" low at 7 yds, yesterday the 4" disappeared. Guess I'm learning the long trigger pull.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I am definitely looking forward to getting some time on that trigger. I have to say, I was on target so combat accuracy was pretty good but my groupings were weak and low. Getting it all ironed out is all part of the fun IMO. Just an excuse to shoot more!
The mag release looks like it is working properly. It is just my hand getting in the way on the other side of the grip where the other side of button protrudes when the mag release button is pressed. Is that the way it works on all Kahrs or just their smaller pistols?

I pick one up on Saturday. Went to the range on Monday at first few mag were all sort of jams stove piping. After about 75round everything work fine. All together I put 350 round thru it. Very happy with it. Now I have to give it a good cleaning.

Just picked mine after the wait for background. I love this gun and the most accurate for me in all of the 9MM smaller guns I could find to shoot at the ranges.

my cm9 is my first kahr also. i am really impressed. 250 rounds without any issues. i bought a pj iwb holster also. i am not sure if i am more impressed with the cm9 or the pj holster but together they make for a really nice carry.
