I can sure as heck define what a home invasion is at my house. And what the penalty will be. And if I don't have a gun on hand, the penalty will be the same, just by a different method.

Yeah I thought that was funny when the sweet lil ole lady had no problem defining "what is a home invasion".

I think the invaders would definitely prefer a quick and painless death by firearms.

I still can't believe the Aussie's went along with this. I'm sure many did not but of course now they are criminals. Sounds like they should find a way to repeal this stupid law and reincarnate self defense.

Unfortunately in Australia it is far from that happening. I honestly am one of only a tiny group of friends who are pro gun. We are all the product of brainwashing in schools by left wing anti gun teachers and education system. They get to us when we are young, gullible and completely ready to be bent in the direction of their own agenda.

My friends have almost to a person become conservative, but all maintain their anti-gun views. It is really disturbing. I am considered weird, paranoid and somewhat dangerous by most of my Aussie mates simply because we have 10 guns in the house and train as often as possible. Australian gun laws are a major reason for my wife and I not returning to Oz to settle.

What? Who? Me? Weird?

Cheers

How does one defend themselves against those Koala Bears? Throw rocks?

You're talking "Big Game" hunting there. Time to bring out the trusty old boomerang. And please downtownv, it is Koala, not Koala Bear :p

Wow. Great find there. Don't be mistaken, this WILL happen in America too if we are not careful. Stand up and vote! It only takes a generation or two for rights to not be considered "rights". The teaching (brainwashing) starts in public schools. Parents... know what your kids are taught, and teach them too.

If it starts at home first, then what they learn at school is secondary and questioned by kids. My kids know that guns are only tools, and bad people can use any tool to hurst someone else. It's called teaching them common sense.

I teach my kids that our family's beliefs in God and our Constitutional rights trumps anything they teach in school. Luckily, our school goes against some of the liberal agenda as they are conservative country folk like the rest of us. Thank God.

I wonder if they define high powered air rifle as a firearm? How about a crossbow? Uh... squirt petrol on them and ignite it? Boiling oil? Chainsaw - yeah... a big chainsaw!!

I like the one where a city made it the law that everyone of age and ability HAD to carry a gun.

Here you go. Kennesaw, GA. I was living in Marietta a couple of years after they passed this. Every head of household had to own a gun (except for the conscientious objectors who became the target.)

Years ago Australia was number one on my escape plan. It's now switched to New Zealand [Sorta worried about this one - it may follow Australia] and Costa Rica.

I heard that the guy who inspired the movie Crocodile Dundee, was killed in a gunfight when they came after his guns.

I was reading some of the comments after watching the video. It's amazing how people become sheep so easily. And once there you can't shake them from it. It's pretty pathetic a country with a small population like australia insists on comparing themselves with the USA and gun crime, or crime altogether. If they had the population that we have, their crime rate would be through the roof with their stupid anti gun attitude. Some people will always live in their stupid bubble. I have no sympathy for people who willfully make themselves victims. I watch that show The Glades, it has that aussie guy starring in it. They had one episode involving assault rifles and a gun store and you could just feel his REAL nasty attitude towards it. His arrogant lecturing about it was NOT acting, you could feel he meant it. Totally pathetic.
