I picked up this beat up pitted K9 from AIMSurplus for $300. Yes $300. They were selling their turn-in K9's for $400 but this one was in bad shape and I got it cheaper. :) I am currently deployed so it will be my 'welcome home' to myself. Burnt Bronze on the frame and Graphite Black on the controls. If no one's seen burnt bronze in person, the camera doesn't really pick up the tone and depth of this color. Sometimes it looks orange-ish in pictures. Also had some Kahr Trijicon NS's put on too.

He ran 50rds through it before doing any work to make sure it was worth it LOL. I'll be bringing this to Wyoming territory to carry in a chest pack while doing a 7 day ruck expedition with a few of my military buds.

Credit where credit is due: www.controlledchaosarms.com (http://www.controlledchaosarms.com) did all the work.

I wonder how this finish might look with some wood grips... maybe the smooth rather than checkered.

ThomasA,
Welcome to the forums:)
Let me echo Alfonse's "thanks for your service", thanks for your service!
You certainly did improve that K9's appearance.

Greg

I dont see a difference. Oh, wait, the second one is propped up with a shotgun shell.

J/K that looks awesome! Huge difference. It's sad how some people treat their weapons. Oh well, your gain! +1 on smooth wood grips. I love my NYPD trade in. It's a sweet shooter. Very few guns feel that good in your hand.

Get home safe and soon!

Looks great. I would love to find a K9 at a decent price. Also ditto on the "Thanks for your service". I do some hiking in our Central Louisiana Kisatchie wilderness area when the weather is cooler. Carry my P9 under an untucked shirt with 8 extra rounds and no extra mag. Heh, ounces count when it all has to fit on your belt or shoulders.
