Is anyone familiar with the E9? I would like to know if this is essentially the K9 (with a 3.5 vs 3.6 barrel) and anything related to reliability. Why was it discontinued?

Thanks!

Yeah. The E9 is carbon steel.

E9's are fine guns. Carbon steel isn't a terribly bad thing in the over all scheme of things.

humm;;; back 40 years ago, before stainless guns.humm what were they made out of???Just sayi humm

seems like we all got buy pretty damn good back then. Sure don't see any junk looking Pythons or Model 19, 28,27 around either. I sometimes thing we took far more pride in our blued steel guns than we do our stainless versions.,

Kinda to me like a great mechanical wach that is not self winding, it gives u something to do and to look at more often and not to just take it for granite. Pride goes a very long way in gun owner ship... Wouldnot bother me to own a E9 today if the price and gun was right, as I now it would never get any worse thanthe day i bought it. I guess I just said in 8000 words what the great one just said in 18 words. He is just such a fokking genius with words these days.

Yes, it is essentially a K9.

* The E9 has a plastic front sight, and no dovetail cut, similar to the "C" models of today.

* It has the carbon steel slide. Probably discontinued after Kahr used up all of their slides. The original K9 also had a C.S. slide.

* It has simpler markings.

It was marked as an economy K9, but it should work and function just as any other K9.

Well sometimes folks question your words and written and such but your cyphering is right on the money. Nothing wrong with your rithmatic.

Nothing wrong with and E9 or carbon steel. I'm pretty fond of my carbon steel K40. Just takes a bit more TLC than stainless, i.e. light coating of oil on the slide. [ I lightly coat my stainless slides too, so it's no big deal.]
