I am not new to Kahr's. Have several and my EDC was a PM9. Bought it used and it shoots great. Carried great too but would like to have a little more gun.

Got a deal on an almost new PM45 and it ran rough for the first 250 rounds or so but seems to be running good now. I just does not carry as easy as the PM9.

Got a good deal on CM40 this weekend, new in box in grease with tags. Heard alot about bad recoil (even from dealers) which held me off till now.

I just cleaned it up, oiled it and headed out to the range. Just got back and I really don't know what they are talking about. 150 rounds and not a hesitation or hick up with FMJ or HP. Shoots sweet and to me it is not much different than the PM9. Just a little slower on the followup if anything at all. Kahrs have great ergonomics.

I admit I am not very recoil sensitive but it is much less punishing than my Colt Cobra 38 Special or my Keltec P3AT 380 and alot more gun.

Don't believe what others say to to try it. I got a new carry!:D

Bought new CW40 four years ago. It quickly became my EDC. I am at the Gun Range at least three times a month shooting a number of different guns and always run at least five mags of ammo thru the CW40 before leaving. Since day one it has functioned without a malfunction of any sort. Six weeks ago I made a present of it to my son who has moved to Alaska. With the CW40 gone I retrieved a BERSA 380 from my gun safe as my EDC. As might be expected, the feeling of being "under gunned" was difficult to ignore. Last week I stopped by my local Firearms Store with the intention of purchasing another CW40. They did not have one in stock so I spent a good half hour handling a number of very nice EDC pistols. Because I had informed the clerk of my dollar purchase limit, I had been shown guns in the price range of the CW40. As I was pondering my preferences, he handed me a new Kahr P40 with the comment that it was a bit above my price point, but perhaps we could work a deal. As soon as I wrapped my hand around the grip,it was instant recognition and I was sure this was the best option for me. To make a long story short...I walked out of the store with it! A week and 250 rounds later, I am 100% convinced I made the correct decision. Range report: At the Very First round the slide did not return to full battery. The next 249 rounds, the P40 functioned perfectly. Not sure why the initial malfunction, but it may have been operator error!

I'll have to find a chance to shoot a cm or pm 40. Congrats!

My CW40 and P380 split the EDC chore during the year. My CW has always gone bang, eats 160/180 grain FMJs with delight and shoots eather of my two favorite SD loads with nary a hitch.
I have been eyeing the P40 though. Maybe I should just put the Trijicon sight kit for the CW on my gun and run with it, but the P40 with XS sights keeps Calling me...

Must...Resist...(grunt)...

Enjoy!
