I want to get some 9mm Speer Gold Dots for my CM9 as a self-defense load. The question is which bullet and which load: 115 grain or 124 grain, and regular 9mm or 9mm+P? I don't plan on shooting these as an everyday range round, so hand fatigue is a minimal consideration, if it is a factor at all. TIA.

I use the Gold Dot 124 gr. +P Short Barrel rounds for SD. They shoot very similar to the Lawman 115 gr. rounds I use for practice at the range. Since the CM9 has a very short barrel I like using a round designed to give the best performance.

I carry with the Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +p ammo loaded 6+1 in my CM9. I haven't tried the Short Barrel version, yet, but will some time.

Tnoutdoors9 has some good reviews of different varieties of GDs on youtube.

Another 124 +P vote as I prefer all the oomph I can for a small 9mm. I've shot both SB and regular version, both cycle fine in my CM9.
I've switched to 100% GoldDots for all my carry guns. 165, 124, 90, 60 gr. Just easier to find around here and no worries about the rounds doing their job.

Another vote for 124 grain, either standard or +P, which ever works for you. In my G26, I use the +P with no problems. My brother carries the standard pressure in his CM9. :)

I load the regular 124gr Gold Dot for my everyday defensive round. It has never failed me in my K9.

Either the 124gr or 147 gr gold dot is a good choice. The 147 gives you better penetration during the winter months when heavier clothing is apt to be worn. There is also less muzzle flip and muzzle flash with the 147 grain load.
Another vote for the 124 +P ;).
For some reason I get better groups with the 147gr so that's what I carry. I have confidence that it'll get the job done.

Southsound and I use the same 124-gr +P Short Barrel Gold Dots. That's my actual carry ammo for 9mm... AND 45, 'cept a little bigger for the latter... 230Gr S.B. I do buy and use the LE 50-round boxes for practice and extra defense ammo, as well.

I carry Gold Dots in my .45 Kimber (Short Barrels for the 4" barrel,) in my Colt .380 and probably in my P45... but not my CW9... I got better accuracy with the 147grn Hornady TAP than the Gold Dot 147grn. Just food for thought.
GD 124 gr. +P SB load in my PM9.

My G27 with a G23 40-9mm 4.02" barrel I run Speer GDHP 124 gr +P.
If I'm running the G27 40-9mm 3.46"?
Then Winchester Ranger T-Series 127 gr +P+.
I don't have s 3.0" 9mm.
Would likely go with the Speer GDHP Short Barrel 124 gr if I did.
I carry Speer GDHP Short Barrel rounds in my .38 and .44 Mag revolvers.
My only Kahr at this time is a MK40 Elite.
Standard Speer Duty GDHP 155 gr still run ~1150 fps/450 E from it's 3.0" barrel.

124 +p's in my PM9. Just make sure they don't inadvertently lock the slide back. Mine did at about the 3rd shot, all I did was some precision filing of the slide stop with the emphasis on "precision".
