My gun interests are pretty diverse, and one of my long-standing wish list items has been a Colt SAA. I finally got one recently and I'm so happy! :biggrin1:

Not much in common with today's Kahrs, except that it was the SD gun back in its day, when one might have encountered cattle rustlers, hostile injuns, and gangs of outlaws. Today it's a beautiful anachronism that still remains a wonderful example of the gun-maker's craft in blued steel.

I previewed a picture of it in another thread recently, but here's a better one. It's a .45 with 5 1/2" barrel, wearing gunleather from El Paso Saddlery.

The new guy also has a nice little brother, a Colt Frontier Scout in .22LR and .22WMR. The Scout is actually 7/8 the size of the SAA (not obvious in the picture) and at least 7/8 of the fun, but at 1/20 the ammo cost.

Man, that's beautiful. I still love single actions and still have 5 but no Colts:(. I still have nightmares of turning down a brand new 4 3/4" nickel Colt 45 for $120 in favor of a Ruger Blackhawk for $87.50:photo:

A SAA is still on my dream list. Congrats!

Having dreams and goals are one of the best things about life because they are happy things that keep you going even when other things are not going so well.

My theory is that when a person runs out of dreams, they die. ;)
