After picking up my new to me p45 cleaned and lubed it. Feed a snap cap to dri fire and whamoo:ohmy: side will not rack more than .25 inch. Any thoughts:ohmy::confused::confused:

snap cap is stuck in the chamber...

No snap caps are needed, just fine to dry fire.

if you can use a small tool to manipulate the extractor over the snap cap's groove... it'll allow the slide to retract, and you can then drive the snap cap out from the muzzle end.

Yank on the slide and rip the snap cap out.

I'm going to try a 7/16 hardwood dowel and give it a good wack with a rubber mallot.:19:

Just out of curiosity, how did you feed the snap cap?

This sounds similiar to what I was experiencing after disassembly/re-assembly or my magazine catch. Is the magazine in when you try this and if so does it make a difference if it's removed?

Fed it with mag.:der:

Are you still stuck or did you get it out?

I'd try putting the dowel down the barrel and pushing against a solid surface while trying to rack the slide at the same time. A little tap if needed against the surface. Shouldn't be too hard to get it to pop out.

I need closure.

I meant does it make any difference if you remove the mag and try to extract it?

Got it to work. Total cost $1.70. Took a 3/8 inch x 12 hardwood dowel Put it down the spoilt. Next pointed at floor and pushed. Successes.:target: . Will check with spent cases befor going to range

Good news. I don't mind admitting I'm relieved.

I had a feeling it would be just a tight snap cap... they sometimes do that

He was answering my question about how the snapcap was fed.
I was curious to know if it was fed from the magazine or dropped into the chamber by hand.

Fed by magazine
