You know, that's the ONE thing that keeps me upbeat and hopeful headed into this election, the seemingly large numbers of folks jumping ship from Obama. I think if the Dems had made the decision to dump him for Hilary this round, we'd be talking a whole different ball-game. That would have been a super smart move on their part.
Whether that's going to be a one time team switch thing, or permanent, it is what it is and I think it's going to have an impact. The vocal group is always vocal, they aren't switching come hell or high water. And as Rush says, if you think they are vocal and nutty when they are winning, wait until they start loosing. But the regular folks that thought he was gonna do great wonders and govern from the center, or this latest round of garbage against small business might well have done him in w/ the middle of the road crowd. A boy can hope!
Will it be enough...dunno. Not sure what November holds, but I sure am counting on the less-than-crazy center-left folks to shift the balance this time around. We shall see.

You know, sometimes I think we need to flip-flop Ryan and Romeny as vice-pres and pres. Paul Ryan is on fire! If ROmney gets 8 years, you might see our next pres as Paul Ryan.

"What is to be the consequence, in case the Congress shall misconstrue this part [the necessary and proper clause] of the Constitution and exercise powers not warranted by its true meaning, I answer the same as if they should misconstrue or enlarge any other power vested in them ... the success of the usurpation will depend on the executive and judiciary departments, which are to expound and give effect to the legislative acts; and in a last resort a remedy must be obtained from the people, who can by the elections of more faithful representatives, annul the acts of the usurpers." --James Madison, Federalist No. 44, 1788
I am very impressed with both of these gentlemen, and thankful to the creator for raising them up to lead our nation on a major course correction.

So that RNC appearance was the best speech Romney could come up with?
So that was the best speech from the best guy the Republicans could come up with?
For me, it was the most airhead speech I can remember hearing from ANY presidential candidate.
Obama will dominate the debates.
The Republican Party seems to be fading...
This is not to say that ANY specific politicians or party will make a huge difference in the way that Washington DC is functioning...

Can't say I'm overly excited about Romney, but I'll close ranks because the alternative is...no way in hell. Does the GOP have better and brighter, I think we saw that all week. I watched the C-SPAN coverage all week to avoid the talking heads, interuptions, etc. Condi, Rubio, Rand Paul would have ALL been better choices than Romney and Ryan, but it's the hand we've been dealt. This hand is a FAR CRY from the doddering old dolt we picked 4 years ago. There are a whole lot of young up-n-comers in the GOP too.
My biggest beef w/ his speech.
1. Education - not the federal governments job to worry about educational standard, vouchers, etc. Get the hell out of the way and leave my local community alone.
2. Jobs - not the federal governments job to worry about private industry and tinker with the economy. Get the hell out of the way and let private business and industry do it's thing. Regulate, but stop futzing w/ it. They haven't a CLUE what they are doing.
I'm not seeing the brains that all claimed Obama was gonna bring to bear on the world, not even a little bit. I knew it up front, he didn't fool me for a second. His off the cuff remarks bear that out. He's a moron without a single good idea. He's got some good handlers and some good public speaking skills, that's it. Nothing of substance.
Romney may not do well in the debates, I fully expect it. But with all the Democrats that came out of the woodwork at the GOP convention, tell me you don't think that there are going to be 10s of thousands or 100s of thousands that cross over this November because they got more than they bargained for w/ Obama. If you can find a single Republican or Libertarian floating around at the DNC convention, I'll eat my shorts.
The Republican base has been energized by TEA and Libertarian values. It's either on a major comeback or it's all smoke and mirrors. The younger generation of GOPers seem to be more Constitution and less 'government'. Dunno. We shall see.
Either way, I'm not worried. Obama takes office and we complete the demise of this great country and enter into a period just before a full reset will become necessary, or we slow it down some w/ Romney/Ryan while we figure out how to pull it all out of the toilet. Either way, I'll cope and move on.

It's nothing like the sh!t slinging the DNC will be like. They don't have anything else to stand on because their politics DO NOT WORK, as we have seen.

Romney's reticence made it less than an epic speech, but he is a proven man of action who, as promised, will get the job done. Not only so, but he is wise and experienced enough in business and governing to surround himself with the best people who have a heart to serve the people like he has, not a bunch of sycophants and worms. And, IMO, he chose the best person by far to serve as his VP. With 8 years of Romney and 8 years of Ryan, this nation will be way better than it has ever been. JMHO.

The thing is, he knows how the financial side of things works (unlike our clueless failing pres now), and that is more important than any other topic at this point. All other debates and concerns are futile and worthless if we do not fix this spiraling economy and debt will be the death of our nation.
You can't say anything has worked that has been done in the last 4 years, even with a fully democratic Congress for 2 years. All we got was spending (laundering) out of control to failing busineses that were campaign contributors and large sums of $ to big-wig union psychos. Oh, and cover ups the gang-like acts his appointees have committed.
Obama does not have any accomplishments to stand on. Time for a change.

Actually, there were MANY moderates and independents that are swinging to the Rep. side for this election, many of whom were at the RNC this week.

I can't wait for the debates. This current joke of a president can't even say his own name without a teleprompter, watching him stutter and stammer during debates without it will be fun and a great eye opener for independents. I guess you didn't hear the speeches from the companies saved by Bain and Romney, like Staples and Sports Authority. Those 2 companies alone are more jobs than nobama has created EVER. And when you consider how over the last nearly 4 years of massive economic destruction, no amount of more LIES from loser in chief is going to sway any half smart independent. It will only sway the losers living off government already.

You need to understand something. The large majority of Americans, and especially our forefathers, find those social stances right on the money. What is radical is the clearly sinful, ungodly, in fact God defying stances that Obama and the now hopelessly extreme left Democraric party espouse, calling infanticide a "right" and trying to redefine marriage as an unnatural union between persons of the same sex. Add to that the socialist ideologies of income redistribution and dependence on a nanny state. It is absolutely INSANITY for people with such extremely radical ideas to call the stances of a centrist, conservative Rebuplican extremely radical! Get off that. It is just an evil strategy of the left to call centrist, traditional social stances radical when it is leftist radicals that are saying it!

As I said earlier, if the independents weigh more on the social issue than the economy, they have their priorities out of line. None of that matters if our country goes down the financial crapper as it is now at an exponential rate.
Romney's business ventures have created thousands of jobs and made lots of money. Some people just have the insight, and some people, like your curent leader, hasn't a clue. All he has is a deep-rooted upbringing and facination with fascist and communist radicals, while Romney was out building the American dream. Tell me who has the real financial experience to save our country.

I agree with this completely except the large majority part. That in and of itself is the problem. There are far more wanting the government handouts than those doing the handing out.
I believe government has no place in half the stuff they are involved in, maybe if they focused on fewer things like balancing the check book, finding non career politicians only in it for the money things will get better.

Exactly. Such atrocities were not even considered anywhere near "normal" or natural to our forefathers. Where does this "acceptance" of everything stop????
And as far as social issues go, let it be exposed to what the Islamic faith believes concerning women, homosexuality, or anyone who does not believe as they do (infidels like all of us). It ain't pretty. But its not PC to critisize Islam. But I am a Christian, so my beliefs make me an extremist?
Regardless, these "social" issues are just distractions from the real problem: Our country is about to fold, and the current regime has failed.

So true. and here is the proof:

Something interesting. I was preparing for a lesson for some youth tomorrow and ran across something from a few thousand years ago that is really applicable today:
Genesis 14:14-16
When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people.
Hmmm... formed his own militia to save a relative and possessions from a failed regime. Sounds like 2nd amendment rights.
Afterward came this
Genesis 14: 21-24
The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’ I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share that belongs to the men who went with me.
Hmmm... refused to sell himself for a government handout from a failing society.
May be lessons to learn here.

Obama is truly an evil man. He called for babies that survived abortions, and were born prematurely to be called non-persons, and as a congressman he voted to allow them to just lie on the table and die. Many people would be willing to adopt a baby like that, but he led the campaign to let them die and recieve no medical treatment. How more evil can you be than to deny basic life saving medical procedures to a premature baby that survives an abortion? He certainly has no Christian values, unless he can use them in some way to be re-elected. He has no moral compass. He has shown he is a socialist/communist dictator, and that is only his first four years. Look out if he somehow gets re-elected and doesn't have re-election to worry about. The damage he could do is beyond imagination.

What we are observing is the encroaching darkness prophesied by Isaiah: "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people:" (Isa 60:2a KJV) As I have observed the world over the last decade, I have seen an aspect of this darkness that had not occurred to me before: a growing and profound stupidity of the masses.
Actually, God promised that He would turn the lovers of iniquity over to deception that leads to destruction -
"Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thes 2:11-12 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Thessalonians%202:11-12&version=ESV) ESV)
Isaiah 60 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=isa%2060&version=ESV) is a very hopeful prophesy, telling of how God will make His glory rise and His blessings flow upon His people. So, after the darkness manifests itself for a brief period, a time of great blessing is in store!
But, unfortunately, the near future will become the darkest, maddest, most horrible time since the world began. So clinging to our guns and our bibles is a good idea, IMO.

Well, it's the darkness, Chief. It has engulfed them. The ones who are intelligent and well educated are under the God given delusion. They really think they are right, that it all makes sense. But so many more are, as you say, willfully ignorant. It is amazing to me the number of people who never develop a thinking, reasoning mind, and they have no desire to know things. They go through their entire lives in a daze, it seems, and they are so easily manipulated by the bright deluded ones. The blind leading the blind.

I'm an NRA member, but somehow I have missed the ads for the "all in" campaign. I get so many mailings and emails from them I almost treat it as spam. It's overwhelming. I usually skim the headline and maybe a preview of the article. I get renewal notices all the time when my renewal is not up for another year and a half. I think I'm going to switch to a lifetime membership just to keep from getting that harrassment! Anyway, they DO perform a valuable service and that's why I'm a member. Regardless of my mild irritation by the spam I will continue to support. I'm "all in".
