Interesting story. But, CC in a school zone? I hope it happened OFF school property. More lawyers for somebody to pay.

Not all State CC Regulations ban CC on school property. In Oregon, wouldn't matter if he was on school property or not, he would be legal. Great story! :)

ditto Texas.... as long as the cc isn't inside the buildings (and a few other defined situations)

In Texas it is illegal to have a weapon near a school but it sounds like the good guy was just driving by and saw the incident. Also, we get a lot of "no bills" by grand juries when someone steps up and stops a bad guy, even if the incident is in a "gray area" of the law.

In the shooting near Texas A&M a few weeks ago, the fact that an armed citizen returned fire after the shooter shot the Constable, received almost zero publicity. The citizen didn't hit the shooter but he kept him seeking cover until the police arrived.

CWP holders are usually excepted by the regulations about carry on or near schools. Parking lots vary by the state, but carry in vehicles or leaving guns locked in cars in parking lots is legal. You can carry to and from work or school, but not in the school or workplace.

permit or no permit it is illegal in the state of Indiana to have a gun on school proper4ty even locked in ur car PERIOD. No exemptions. except for LEO's

If the school is having a function at a local park, that park is for that required tome also off liimits to any ccw. Not sure if ur drivig by a school u wouldbe in any violation. common sense has to prevail....

You know teachers are expected to be armed in Israel. I guess that's why you don't hear about school shootings there.
