I had real good luck with PMC Bronze FMJ ammo for the break-in. Check out the Tech Section and read Proper Prep of a New Kahr and the Kahr Lube Diagram. I don't feel that it is necessary to rack the slide 200 times, but it can't hurt anything other than your hands. I didn't run more than 100 rounds through the gun during any one range session. These guns are very tight when new and dirty ammo will cause malfunctions. Remington Golden Saber is a good choice for duty ammo. One final tip, shoot it like you stole it. It's a great .380 auto.

what muggsy says is right. if u get a good one out of the box, IMO there is just no finer 380 made . Some need alittle TLC, but of late, it seems the P380 has worked alot of its little gremlins out of it.

I shoot Powerball in my P380. I can say that my P380 would not feed 102 grain glden sabre ammo. About the only round it just didn't cuddle up to. So I found the pwoer ballthat worked like it should and just stickied with it. I trust it willdot he job if needed.

My son ha smy P380 now, so it doesnt get shot alot, vbut the lat time I had it out, before I gave it to him I fired a 100 rounds of fmj PMC and nairy an issue. Most accurate 380 I have ever shot. I shoot it better than my PM9. I just never carried it so I gave it to my son. Most all of use early P380 owners had issues with them, many had to go back tokiahr to get right. Mine did once but today the new P380 cming out of kahr seem to beone hell of a 380..

One of the three test guns I used was a P380. Follow this link to the test results. http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2011/07/great-380-fmj-jhp-ammo-test-results.html Near the bottom of the blog post you will see a large spreadsheet. The first column of results are the P380 results. There are 3 loadings marked in yellow highlight. These 3 didn't work with my P380, but all the others did. Anything not marked in yellow is fair game to try in your P380.

I haven't found that any ammo is problematic with the P380's, but I would stay away from steel-cased Rooski-type ammo and reloads for break in.

These Kahrs are very tight and the P380 does seem to be more susceptible getting dirty and could benefit in 100-round sessions or cleaning between each 75 or 100 rounds.

I use the cheapest brass-cased FMJ for break in and regular range ammo. Herters, MFS, and Fiocchi are made by Fiocchi in Ozark, MO, and have given me no problems. I buy them by the case at sale prices and get the best deals possible by a lot of Internet shopping at great ammo sites. I use a LOT of Sellier & Bellot Czeck-made ammo and my last batch was 2,000 rounds at $11.99 a box delivered. I also have used UMC, Winchester 100-packs, and Privi Partisan without problems.
