It's been a bit of a journey deciding on what I wanted. I was an armourer in the Army and have had a bit of experience with firearms.

I had been away from it for 20+ years and ran into some friends that were into shooting. I loved the .45 but didn't care much for 9mm's (they just feel to under powered to me) but I was looking for something the size of a 9mm but with a bit more power.

I also wanted something (for when I get my ccp) to have with me and I ran across the CW 40. I was a bit leery not being aware of a Kahrs at that time (all I was running across were Glocks, Berettas, S&W Taurus and all the other common brands) I ran across a few $200 off brands but was just not sure of them.

So after a bit of research I put $200 on the $390 Kahr and a month later picked it up. I am just love the feel of this weapon! I am working on all the setup of the gun as suggested and lubing it up. I won't be able to get it out until next weekend but thanks to all of you here I feel very confident I have exactly what I was looking for and how to set it up to enjoy it from the first shot.

I finally got to the range today. I only had time to get 50 rounds though it but had no issues at all. Man this little gun is a blast!

Congratulations! I bought one for my grandson a couple of months back. We carried it to the gun range and he put 200 rounds of WWB and a box of Federal Hydra-Sok through it without a hitch. It is a gun you can bet your life on.

A CW40 was my first poly framed gun and and we didn't get alonf very well until I had a talk with the range master and he corrected some problems with the way I was gripping the gun. After that it's been smooth sailing. I did buy the ported barrel and that helped with the muzzle rise, allowiing a bit quicker follow up shot.
Congrats on your purchase, I think you are going to like your gun.

I was able to get another 50 rounds though it today. I need alot of work.. the gun is doing just great and is very accurate. I am the problem right now.

I had 1 round jam, but I know that was me limp wristing it.

I am having some mag drop issues but I know that is me hitting the release, I just need more time with the gun and need to adjust my grip.

I really like this little gun it can be finicky but I think it makes you a better more focused shooter.

I use my left thumb to hold my right thumb down... away from the slide lock AND the magazine release button. Those things hurt with the recoil! My Mag-Na-Ported P40:
