It will take the black off and leave it shiny stainless. You could order a stainless one and modify that and save your black one for posterity or figure some sort of refinish.

There are several threads (mostly old) about doing this. Rounded to varying degrees.

I doubt it would void the warranty but I got nothing solid to back that up with either.

I would do what bawanna says, buy a new one and mod it,just in case it has to go back for some reason , then reinsert the original one. Don;'t give um a chance to use that as an excuse. U can getsome Birchwood cold blue and redue theat slide release and it will look fine or just polish it up completely andit will look really nice to..

i took an emory board that my wife uses for her fingernails and swiped it across the offending edges until they were smooth but still "noticed" without being sharp. took about 5 minutes.

I've carried my P380 in my RF pocket in a PJ Holster and never noticed that the slide release was sharp and pointy. I did round the corners of magazine floor plate of my CM9 because they were a bit sharp. I carry that AIWB. Did it with a scotch bright wheel. Took about 5 seconds.

at the range today, at round 50(49 without a problem) and last round in the mag the range officer said all slides open..mine would not? he let me fire the shot and the slide stayed open..fine....release the slide, it closes..but would not re-open..at home had to pull the trigger to get the slide off..as if I was cleaning it, fine...now it will not go back on..seems it get stuck at the cocking cam?????

I usually have to manipulate my trigger a little bit removing and installing the slide. Doesn't sound all that out of the ordinary unless I'm missing something in the translation.

I was thinking that too, but that wouldn't explain not being able to open the slide at the range. Someone here will probably have an answer for you... just not me. ;)

being the gun shoots at the range, that has to tellus tha the gun is in time and that the cocking cam is doing what it should but not being able to open the slide with all things being "right" is really weird, especially he states it works that way with a live round or no round in the slide..

thanks guys...tried rolling the cam, with my finger and buy pulling the trigger to see if the slide would go over it...not happening? guess if I were a (kahr)smith, i'd know what to do? or at least what is wrong
