Hi all, I'm new to the forum and Kahr pistols, but not to firearms. I've looked around here a bit for an answer to my question, but didn't see anything similar.

During the first bit of the trigger pull there is a definate "click", then the remaining 80% of the pull is smooth to the break, is this normal?

I've only sent 50 downrange so far, but there were no malfunctions. Accuracy and recoil were both acceptable. So far I'm liking this pistol.

As soon as I get my CCW I'll be looking for good holster - suggestions along this line are welcomed as well.

What else do I need to know?

Robert Mika, a retired LA LEO, makes great handmade holsters for about $30. I pocket carry my CM9 in one of his holsters. I'm too new to Kahr pistols to answer your trigger question but I'm sure help will arrive shortly. Good luck!

They usualy don't have a click in the trigger pull. Sounds like there is something catching a bit on the trigger bar.

agree and more thanlikely it is the trigger bar spring duuring this trigger bar pull, hitting a slight ruff area on the trigger bar. Shooting it will take care of it in time or just putting some gun grease on the bottom of that trigger bar when that little curl cue spring sits in the groove for the trigger bar to ride on, will also smooth that area out.

I would suggest takeing the slide off thegun and then trying to pull the trigger to see if this click is definitely in the trigger bar/spring. If no click then move to the slide area and an look it over. PPoss ably a dry cocking cam area that needs tome gun oil. Start with the trigger bar area first..

my cm9 has smoothed out a lot since i first bought it. that was around 300 rounds ago. that said my gun has worked flawlessly. i even tried to get a limp wrist failure without success. i think this gun is an excellent value and i am considering purchasing another.

these guns seem to get bashed a lot in forums and i really don't see why. before my purchase i rented one at my lgs. i shot the gun and was really impressed. i asked one of my buddies there how often the cm9 was cleaned. his answer was maybe yearly. he went on to say that they had never returned a pm9 or cm9 to kahr for warranty work and the store owner carries a cm9 all the time. i can tell you the store owner has more handguns than anyone i have ever met.

regarding holsters, you might want to consider a pj holster. excellent quality and design. paul's customer service is off the charts good.

It is in the lower, but it took some effort to find it. Initially pulling the trigger through with the slide off did not produce the click, further testing revealed it when I applied resistance to the trigger pull by holding back the two-lobed cam thingy to the right of the ejector. The clicking seems to be occuring beneath the half-moon shaped stamping on the right side in the slide rail (I really need to figure out how this thing works). I havn't pulled the panel off of the right side yet to investigate the cause, but at least I'm narrowing it down. Any further opinions on what it could be once I'm in there?

Thanks for the help so far.

I think Jocko nailed it. You might be able to see that area without taking the side panel off. Like he said, put some grease there and dry fire or shoot the gun and it will probably go away.

Okay, I went and got a T5 bit and removed the side panel. Once in there I lightly sanded down the molding flash off of the inside of the panel with 400, then 1500 sandpaper (lightly). Nothing on the bar was rough, all looked smooth, so I left it alone. I then put a light coating of white lithium on the bar and inside of the panel and re-assembled to test. The click is quite reduced but still present, I'll live with it for now and see if it "shoots out".
