Yesterday I had just gotten into Sam's Club for a little shopping when I got a call from my son. I hadn't talked to him in about a month and decided to go back to my van and talk to him there... with the air conditioning going.

In front of me across the parking lot aisle I noticed a thirty-ish guy with a goatee and his female companion loading their purchases into the trunk of their car. The guy had a black T-shirt with logos or writing all over it, but what caught my eyes was the OWB holster almost completely exposed. The guy kept trying to pull the T-shirt down to cover the weapon/holster. Obviously he knew it was showing. It was a losing battle unless he stood perfectly still and upright with his arms down at his side, some part of the holster was exposed. I never saw the pistol, but the holster looked like this and was exposed about this much very often.

It was the first time I had seen anything like this kind of exposure. I wondered if this was an off-duty cop and waited until they closed the trunk, but there was no tell-tale Fraternal Order of Police emblem, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a cop... or not carrying legally.

I carry OWB at about 4 o'clock and make a point of buying pocket T-shirts and Polos in Large size with plenty of length and looseness to adequately hide my pistol and holster. I wear voluminous shirts and belted shorts suited to concealed carry and I can easily sweep up my shirt and draw my pistol one-handed. I have a real gun belt... Kydex-reinforced Looper, that really keeps my Cross Breed Mini Tuck and shorts in place with proper tightening.

Inadvertent exposure by CWP holders in Florida is now protected against prosecution, but this guy was obviously wearing one of his favorite shirts without regard to proper concealment... a prime example of "printing" or "showing" or behavior POINTING OUT his not-so-concealed carry!

I never saw the type of pistol, but it could have been anything... maybe even a full-sized 1911, based on the size of the holster.

Whenever I leave my vehicle I tug each rear side of my shirt to be sure it's not resting on my pistol grip.:D

I seen a fella with long hair and tatoos all over walk in Panera Bread about a month ago with fully exposed glock. He never intended to cover it up either. He got some stares but that was all. Never seen him again. He was riding a honda, so that figures!!!

If he had been riding a Harley I would have been less surprised. Those Harley riders are a lawless lot.

I still got 6 left on the top, only missing one on the bottom. Been thinking about yanking them all and getting some of them false choppers. The new real looking kind, not the wood ones like George Washington had.

Standing by the counter in Cabela's Sunday when a fella asked to look at a Desert Eagle 50. Big ole beast she is, wanted it so bad.

He kind of talking to himself asked where he'd wear it, I of course suggested ankle holster. Told him it looked good on him and it really did. Would have looked better on me.

Was a Range Officer that would have concealed just fine on me but alas it wasn't meant to be.

ccw laws vary by the state. some say concealed and mean there can be no indication at a casual glance that you are armed. some states have open carry so a concealed carry by permit that gets accidentally exposed is no big deal.....

ive arrest two (2) bad guys in my time as a cop whom had a holstered gun, the rest were "mexican" carried or pocket carried or stashed near by in their console, under the seat...

very few bad guys carry a holsered gun. they want to be able to ditch the gun and not have anything on them indicating that they had it.....you know, if you find the bun you know there is/was a hotdog with it at one time.

That is my preferred way to carry!! I had no idea it was a popular choice. :D

In NC, you can open carry without a permit. I've never seen anyone doing so.

With T-shirts, I have learned to get them one size larger and the tall man ones that are extra long so that, after washing and shrinkage, they will still work for covering a weapon on the belt.

I use IWB (crossbreed, PJ holster) and I wear a size Large T-shirt instead of my smediums... no problems ;-)
