Brand new owner of CM9 this morning!! Here are some pics and I have a question as well.
You can see the two bullets are separated - is that normal or do I have to pinch the top of the mag a bit. I'll shoot tomorrow to test.

That's normal. Just make sure the cartridges are fully to the rear in the magazine, especially the top round. After most of us chamber a round for carry, we remove the magazine and add a round to give us the capacity of the mag + 1. When doing that, it's good practice to make sure the top round is fully to the rear.

Be sure and watch the take down video for your particular pistol... links under Kahr-Tech on Forum Home Page. There are many good links there and the Manual can be downloaded and the F.A.Q.s will answer many of your possible questions.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your pistol, but learn how to care for it before possibly damaging it.

Looking good, might need to reduce the size of the barrel to a more fitting comparable size __________________ .

I just got back from firing 75 rounds and only one little problem. On round 20ish the cm9 failed to lock back on the last round of the magazine. That's it! I tended to shoot very low but after some practice I was shooting Yeungling cans at 10 yards. I was sling-shotting the slide to put a round in the chamber with no problems as well. I'm very impressed with this tough little pistol.

Good deal. That's just about the right amount of rounds to go through starting out too. I tend to lose self control and shoot much more. After 75 or 100 rounds I think things begin to become non productive.
One little balk that early in the game I would not be concerned.
Keep shooting and enjoy.

well at leastit went bangevery time, failue to lock back one time could also had been shooter fatigue, grip changed a tad, not alot of gun to hold on to , Ur OK, just shoot it like u stoleit..If this ia a new gun to, kahrs recoil springs are tighter than a virgin's ***** and sometimes that recoil spring needs to get it designed set and then it will work great. Also with range ammo, and ot defense ammo sometimes those rounds arenot that hot to make things work. With defense rounds I would like to think that little issue will dissappear..

I think thatis a nice club emblem for us blunt nose owners. Just sayin. Tinman has alot of talent, not worh a tinkers damn on the open market but cvertainly appreciated here, I think. few more here just likie him, I think it is a desease. A good shot of Peniscillian would solve it..

Just picked up my black PM9 the other day, cool little gun. The first 300 rounds were full of hiccups. but since the then it has been pretty good for a small gun. I like it. Haha Jocko!

Watch the take down video, too! It's very instructional on proper insertion of the slide lock pin. That little spring can cause a lot of grief if it's damaged or doesn't wind up on the ledge on the back of the slide lock lever. AND it can really suck if you don't get the pin through the hole in the lug under the barrel... maybe a trip back to Kahr!!

Thanks.
What would happen if that spring didn't get on top of the slide lock lever? Before my first trip to the range I cleaned and oiled my new pm9. I fired just over 300 rounds that day (three blisters on my hand to prove it) and the damn magazines fell out nearly every round, about 80% of the time.
It never improved, while all other failures did. I may or may not have gotten that spring on top of the slide stop lever, (i can never really see for sure). Anyways the second trip to the range this problem happened zero times (I still had a couple of weird misfeeds and a stove pipe). Could it be that I had that spring in the wrong position the first time to the range? Would that cause this problem?

two things to check. with the mag out of the gun look at the right side and seehow flush that mag releaseis with reference to the grip frame. now insert the magazine and recheck. Is it just as flush??? If it is not, then the magazine is not mating properly with the release button.
If it is flush, now physically try to pull the magazine out of the gun, try eery which way u can. If that fails, then IMO the mag butotn is doing its job.
Now u need to try to shoot it left handed to see if the magazine pops out like you have stated. If not, then consider your thumb a culprit andu just don't know ur doing it. If u have another kahr magazine testr it out to see ifit does it . U just need to eliminate the possabilities before contacting kahr so that u can tell tem everything u have did and tested out and then seek their advice. The slide lock has nadda to do withy prematrue mag release.

Well it worked the second time to the range and I did do the magazine catch tests beforehand too. I slapped a rubber grip on it for the second range time, the stippling is to aggressive IMO. This widened the grip and I believe made it harder to hit that release. Kahr is sending me a new one, so I figure i will test that one without the grip and see if I still release it every time. It was just so weird I would even pull my thumb off the pistol completely and the mag would still drop. Puzzling
Otherwise I've heard you can buy a heavier spring for the mag release.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was my thumb hitting it, since I'm used to shooting glocks which we all know have huge grip circumferences.

There seems to be some magazine catches with weak metal bearing surfaces on the magazine retainer. I just had one on a new P380. This was very evident and I hope to have the new part today! I haven't seen any of my other Kahrs' catches' edges failing to retain their shape and function. I don't know if it's a MIM thing, either. I'll have to compare the new one with the old when it gets here.
If you add any kind of sleeve to the grip, be sure that it does not interfere with either side of the magazine catch. Even a little drag will cause problems.

Any idea on how to make your own blood packs like these:
http://pinkmisttech.com/pmtpress/
Right now I'm thinking zip lock baggy, water, tiny bit of flour and red food dye
OK, I found it:
