Before I purchase a box I thought I would ask if anybody has experience with this ammo in there CM9. It is Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P.

I have fired 50 rds. thru my PM9.
Function was 100%. I forgot my chronograph that day so I can't speak to how fast they are going out of the 3.1" PM9 bbl.
Accuracy out to 15 yds. was as good or better that any other good SD load.

The non +P loading is listed as 1010 fps.
I got the following thru my PM9:

970.5 fps/avg. 6 rds.
966.8 fps/avg. 6 rds.

How was the recoil from the +P in a 3 inch barrel?

No more than any other +P 9mm loading in the PM9 but then, I'm not recoil sensitive.
Double taps on an FBI "Q" type target at 7 and 10 yds. were just fine.
Controlled pairs at 15 yds. the same.

I ran a test on the standard and +P versions of this load back in June out of my PM9. I'd be satisfied with either, but see no reason to switch from HST until 50 round boxes are broadly available at prices similar to 50 round boxes of HST. Here's a link to my test. http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2012/07/hornady-critical-duty-9mm-135-grain.html

I also tested the 40 S&W through a PM40. I have made the switch to this load in the PM40 because HST consistently FTE jams in my pistol when loading the 6th round. This ammo solves that problem for me. It's not the biggest expander, but it does well and more than clears the 12" penetration benchmark. http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2012/06/hornady-critical-duty-40-s-175-grain.html

Ok to display copyrighted material here since it's mine. :)

Very well done test, review and video. Much appreciated. Did you bench rest for those shots on the denim?

Thanks for the feedback! I just throw a piece of foam down on the ground 8 feet in front of the test rig and shoot with my forearms braced on my knees. I always need to remember to have the bullet enter the block as "straight on" as possible so it doesn't angle out of the block in any of the 4 possible directions. This shooting process seems to work the best for me.
