Wish me luck everybody.
My 200K Honda clutch is just about gone.
I'm going to try to take it on it's last trip to the dealer in about an hour.
Have to cross a bridge on the way!!!

I need some good luck to get through this day in one piece!

If things go well,
I'll be driving a new Taco 4x4
and picking up my new HK P2000 357 before the sun sets.

We expect photos. :)
I have 117k on my 1999. I am the original owner, so I know how it's been taken care of... I'm confident it will have no problem going another 100k.

Take a small tight lidded jar inside and capture some of the new car smell. Send it to me. I love new car/truck smell. I sometimes stroll car lots just to suck in some of the new smell.

I'm an addict. If I ever got a new one I'd probably keep it in the garage with the doors shut so none of the new smell gets out.

Thanks Everybody!
It's been a rough day.
The Honda crapped out just before the bridge and had to be towed.
My truck wasn't delivered yet.
The LGS received my HK P2000/357, but hasn't processed it yet.
I've got nothing....

Well that's not entirely true.
Toyota gave me a free loaded V6 Camry until my truck arrives.
Credit union lowered my interest rate from 1.99% to 1.74%.
Three hours at the dealer and all my paperwork is done.

I got a slab of BBQ ribs and went home.
NFL kicks off in earnest Sunday and all is well.

Have a great weekend internet friends of mine.

Ribs and football ain't a bad second choice. I would have taken the Bama game and ribs/wings/beer/pizza (any man food) over working 10 hrs today.

A new truck sounds good, but I'll just be glad to get mine paid off and not have that payment.

Sorry to hear that. Very frustrating, I'm sure. But may I ask why?

Did the dealer not have the vehicle, or did they make some other mistake?

I spent just one hour at the dealer signing and picking up my new Chevy in July. It was very easy. As it should be.

They shouldn't make it hard for you, and if they do, find another dealer. Vote with your dollar.

I spent just one hour at the dealer signing and picking up my new Chevy in July. It was very easy. As it should be.

The vehicle was scheduled for delivery Friday Sept 7 from Jacksonville to Tampa.
I had a 12 noon appointment to do the paperwork and pick up the truck.
They have 72 hours to deliver technically.
The computer showed the vehicle at the dealer,
but It wasn't there and was still in route from Jacksonville Friday afternoon.
Now they will not commit to an actual delivery date - just soon.
The paper work took three hours to complete.
Having a towed in trade and getting a rental car seemed to complicate things.
Also there was several communications from the dealer with financing and insurance.
I don't know why. I had an insurance binder for the truck and a pre-approved loan from the bank.
The salesmen was great but the manager sucked.
He kept trying to pressure me into extended maintenance plans and
wanted the dealer to do the financing.

No means No
I don't need to explain why.
Maybe it's just me, but I started to get mad.
Is it the length of terms? Is it the cost? Haven't you had car trouble before?
BLA BLA BLA...

I already decided, before I got there, I wanted clear coat for the paint and that's it.

I did get a 2013 ~$2000 below MSRP. I think the price was $20,223.
And ~$700 below the lowest price from other dealers.
A very good price for a 2013 4x4 Tacoma - IMHO.
Also I got a V6 fully loaded Camry, for free, including gas, until my truck arrives.
Can't really complain about that.

I often feel unlucky.
But I bought that Honda with 99K about 10 years ago for $1000.
200K+ she dies on the day I trade her in on a new truck.
And I have to drive a free loaded Camry while I wait for delivery.
And this is bad? Really?

Maybe not.

On a side note:
My HK P2000 was delivered to the LGS Friday and they still haven't processed it.
I went in on Friday and called Saturday - it's still not done.
Are you kidding me?
When I bought my HK P30 there a few weeks ago,
I walked out with it in less than an hour.

I wont be transferring any guns to this LGS again!

Sounds like a real hassle that you shouldn't have to put up with.

The way this dealer is treating you is very strange, because most new car dealers live and (almost) die by their customer survey scores these days. I don't know about Toyota, but I have had 2 new car transactions in the past few years from 2 other manufacturers, and in both cases the final part of the sales process was the dealer "coaching" me on how to fill out the satisfaction survey on the sales experience that the manufacturer would send me a few weeks later. In both cases the dealership practically pleaded with me to give them a top score, or contact them to work out any issues.

Perhaps some other KahrTalk members have had the same experience.

Anyway, you might be able to obtain a small amount of satisfaction from the revenge of giving them a bad survey, assuming Toyota does this like all the others.

We need stats. Stick, automatic, V6 HP? Inside pics. Bedliner? Dual exhaust really gets lost?

And I'm still waiting on that jar of new car smell.

Nope,
The I4 is quite manageable.

But The Barrel Report update?
Bar-Sto called me on my cell a few minute ago.
My extended, triple ported, stainless steel, match barrel

Viva La Porting!

That I-4 engine is bullet proof. I think that's the best one that they make. Decent gas mileage too. I see at least 200K miles in its future.
