quite possableu have somerounds that are OAL out of whack and the bullet is getting stuck in the rifleing, preventing u from opening the slide. This canalso be a cause of the failure to go all theway ito battery. NOt much else can prevent the slide from opening. try another brand to see if it happens.
somejust also drop a round in the chamber and kinda give it a push. If the bullet is gonna hit the rifling, it willstick if u then tip the barrel upsilde down for the round to fallout. U can test this off the gun even. Certainbly something u need to check out with federal red box.

that is not good. If u canb pull the trigger and then rack the slide, then how aobut doing that and just takeing the slide lock pin back out and pulling off the slide and inspecting. See if u can pull the trigger and the cocking cam move forward and backward. I basically am at a loss here to..

ok the trigger pulled and got the slide off...now can't get the slide back on....being really new and not know what things are....lets see if anyone can can understand....the rear od the side is hitting what looks like two paddles that move when you pull the trigger...these paddles rotate...the back of the side is hitting one these paddles?

i think the "paddles" are called the cocking cam..one them are up too far to allow the slide to go over it...may be time to return..had high hopes

it is easier to get pissed and just give up than to stick with it. that little gun when it is right is a pleasure to shoot, most accurate 380 I ever shot, built like a tank but sh!t happens. They will put some info down on the repair order but I doubt if they are gonna tellu everything.Itwold be nice to know though. Sad thing is that the little gun went bang every time, just didn't want to play nice with some other things. I don't want to guess here either. It certainly sounds like it is in the cocking cam area. Just not much else that can hold ur slide up like it is doing. My little P380 had to make a trip back to get right..

thanks jocko...it shot real real nice for those 49 rounds....felt good in the hand...using the slide release to chamber the 1st round was better than expected..the release was not sharp and it went right down...if they can fix it and it goes for 500 rounds w/o a hiccup, it does have to work as a cc gun and my life depends on it...i'll give it a chance...keep you all updated on how the call goes on monday and beyond

Is the paddle inside the frame or outside? Do you have pics?

I'm not sure what is going on. Is the cam in the same position as the picture above? Mine sometimes has trouble passing the trigger bar in front of the rear right rail on the outside of the frame but it sounds like yours is a different problem.
Here is a thread where the slide is stuck on. I know it's not the same but it might have some helpful hints. It has some good pictures that will tell you if yours is set up right.
