It looks to me that the P9 has greater lockup surface than the PM9.
This and longer recoil spring should add to longevity and hotter loads.

That may be true.
I picked up my PM9 to replace a J frame I would CCW during the hot Arizona summers. I've no intention of using it as a range gun (got a pair of XDs for that). I will practice with the PM9 enough to remain proficient with it. I doubt that will cause excessive wear. If a bad guy doesn't drop with a quality 9mm SD round, I doubt they will go down any better with a +P. Sight picture and bullet placement are way more important to me than velocity. ;)

I agree and carry non +P in my PM9 but have shot one round of +P+ just to see what the recoil was like. Then I read that they are not rated for +P+ any longer. Because there is no standard for +P+. It could be anything above +P to a proof load.
I just thought it interesting that the engagement is greater in the P9 than the PM9. I would be more comfortable with +P in the P9 than PM9.
