just picked up a used but good condition PM45. havent shot it yet and noticed one thing before i bought it. one of the magazines has a crack on the left back feedlip seam. this doesnt look to be a welded area so i wonder if this is a sytemic problem as ive read of others with cracks in this same area.
the next thing, when i got home i loaded it with fmj and hand cycled it just to see how things worked together.....so far so good except...
....when i first insert the magazine (loaded) i see that the breach face contacts the case rim and has to push the case in the magazine forward before the magazine will seat all the way....meaning i have to seat the magazine with purpose but not slamming or forcing it.
well, this weekend i will run some fmj through her and see what she does. BTW the checkering on this gun is noticably more aggressive than whats on my PM9. incidently, the uncle mikes nylon iwb holster and Mika pocket holster made for the PM9 fit the PM45 as well.

and the crap of it is they dont sell just the magazine body....only the guts. i was going to order a polymer mag base for my 6 round PM9 magazine and a magazine body for my PM45 but cant do it for the 45.....WTF? i guess i will have to give them a call friday and ask them about a replacement magazine if this gun is still under warranty.....

Send an email about the cracked magazine with a picture of the damage. Include the pistol model and the serial number. Maybe they'll send you a new mag. They're good about replacing those and you don't need to mention the used condition. They might request that you return the broken mag, though.
If you want more mags try Ivanhoe: http://www.ivanhoeoutlet.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1588
Shipping is $5 for your whole order... USPS Priority... pretty quick service.
I carry the 7-round extended-grip as a "Hi-Cap" spare... good for the range, too, or home defense. I do use the 5-round +1 for carry.

I only have the 625G because it came with my pistol deal... 2x5-round + 1 6-rd extended-grip mag.
I just use it at the range. I want max concealment, so the 5-rounder is in the PM45 for CC, but I want maximum rounds in my reloads for whatever pistol I'm carrying, so I always carry the largest Kahr capacity mag for my reload... in a Kydex holder on my belt... opposite side.

I have bought a LOT of Kydex holders from here:

I didn't really like the IWB versions, but the OWB versions are good. I usually only carry one reload, opposite side with the max capacity, at about 8 to 9 o'clock. I have my cell phone case on my belt in front of the mag holder and my backup is my Gerber FAST Draw clipped inside my left pocket.
I add a piece of Kydex with 3M VHB double-sided tape to the inside of the mag-holder clip to act as a shield and keep it from digging into my side, especially sitting in a vehicle.
I have a Kydex reinforced Looper gun belt and wear the Cross Breed Mini Tuck at about 4 o'clock.
Here's an old post... 9mm, I think:

thanks, but id rather not have to monkey with a mag holder to make it comfortable. surely there are mag holders out there with sweat/body shields and are of the clip on type.....
its like trying to find a desent leather IWB clip on rig with a sweat/body shield.....unless you spend twice the amount of a regular (shieldless) one you wont get the shield. the kahr site has some nice (and expensive leather IWB rigs with a sweat shield, but the other brand right next to it is just as nice in my book, less than half the cost but doesnt have a sweat shield....go figure.....that little piece of extra leather makes or breaks a holster for me. its a shame the low priced holsters dont have the sweat/body shield....id buy two today, one for my PM9 and one for PM45 and be out the cost of one mitch rosen but have two rigs doing the same duty.
