Got my pm40's slide coated in black.... I like the contrast, but it's not for everyone! James on the xd forum did it xd-hs2000 for a small fee and installed the trijicons at no addition cost. Great guy to deal with and the end result is impressive in person!

I like it. What type coating did you get? I'll be curious as to how it wears.

I don't think it is for me but it sure looks nice. Good job with the pictures.

Pictures are ok for a cell phone, i tried to make them as close to the originals as I could though... the coating is a kg gunkote... I will eventually get the slide stop and barrel done and maybe the trigger depending on my mood. He does great work and charged about 40 bucks including return shipping and had it back to me in about a weeks time.

Just curious why not just buy version of PM40 already black?

I found a good deal on this one that was used with xs sights. I had an all black pm9 and loved it. The stainless finish was rough on top of the slide so I figured i'd try a different finish when the sights got swapped out.

the more i think about it, maybe i shoulda got a PM40 instead the PM45 lemon i seem to have now......same carry rigs and all that jazz as my PM9.....same size.....

just about the exact same size but a tad here and there and a little heavier... It's hard to tell the difference for sure! I had a cm9 and pm9 and got rid of them and kept the pm40... I wasn't always set on the 40, but I am happy with my choice! I need to get it running flawless again after being refinished but that should be an easy task! My xds is running great and shoots well, I prefer it over my old pm45.

I'd say you started long ago.

actually i had hoped the plastic kahrs were as good as the steel ones i had a while back....after a magazine catch issue was rectified with my PM9 it runs like a top and is one of my favorites. i just hoped my PM45 would be able to do the same considering the cost.

yeah, but hyundai's break down and so do bmw's.... it's a matter of how you take care of it and getting a good finished product... Obviously yours is having issues and the magazines are sub par! Kahr's aren't like a glock out of the box and require some extra effort most of the time! My kahr cm9 was the only kahr next to my pm9 that didn't need any tweaking!

that being said i carry my kahr more than my glock.... but don't give up on it and you will get it running flawless with some time! you have plenty to carry if it's down from what i've read so hang in there!

i hope youre right, ive already ordered a custom leather IWB holster for it along wqith a pocket mag pouch. im wondering about the slide problem i read others talk about. something about a bevel or some sort of radius at the bottom of the breach face that they had to use a dremel tool to correct.....i havent seen any pictures of it i dont think so i dont know if mine needs this sort of attention or not.
going back to the PM40. ive never been a .40cal guy....9mm or 45acp was always the answer to those questios....the 10mm of course if you wanted power. but, the .40cal shines in the PM package. its got the limits of PM45 capasity but in a smaller gun.

just give it time and it will get better.... i agree that they should be flawless from the box, but just like anything you love, you have to roll with the punches! Now my xds imo has been better than the pm45 in the break in process, but my pm45 was used also.

I was looking at the factory all black PM40 and the stainless with lower black polymer and is it just me or does the stainless black polymer look blacker than the all black one?

they use the same frame so I would imagine they are the same... then again you never know
