I am fairly new to Kahrs. I purchased my first Kahr (a P380 about a month ago). I decided to get a PM9 as well. Picked it up today and when I got home and was inspecting it I noticed that the 6rd mag says "MK Kahr" on it. It fits alright, but sticks out about 1/8" on the bottom. This isn't the case with my P380 mag, it fits tight against the grip. My 7rd mag also sticks out (there is a slight gap between the bottom of the grip and the finger rest on the mag) unlike my P380-7 mag. Also my 7rd mag doesn't have anything stamped on it. Both my P380 mags have either "380-6" and "380-7" stamped on them. The plastic finger grip is also different on my unstamped 7rd PM9 mag. See attached pictures. Do all PM9 kahrs come with MK mags or did I got a fluke. Also why is my 7rd mag not stamped with the kahr name or the caliber like my P380 mags and 6rd PM9 (MK?) mag? Is this normal or did I get a generic one?

No worries!

I have a couple of PM-40's. All of my magazines either came with the guns or came from Kahr as courtesy inclusions when they did warranty work on one of or the other of the nearly identical guns. There are three different styles of markings on the magazines with no apparent rhyme or reason.

The spacing you described is also normal, in my experience.

Welcome to the forum! :)

The magazine extends below the butt to ensure positive seating during a mag change. Some people don't care for the cosmetic look of the mag and have opted to install plastic sleeves over the floor plate to make them more pleasing aesthetically. The gun functions very well in either form. Being a nudist I left mine Au-natural. :) My mags are stamped Kahr 9-6.

I don't recall any pinching with my PM9 mags, but I did get some with the P40 mags when I replaced the plastic bases with the MK-type metal base plates. I added a 3/32 diameter/thick, 3/4" inner diameter O-ring to mine and that worked for me. I tried 1/8" thick by 15/16" I.D. and it was too thick and too loose.

A 1/16" thick by 3/4" I.D. might help yours, if it doesn't make too much pressure on pulling the mag away from lockup... IF you have pinching.

Pix where I did that at post#106:

are not generic, they are geniune kahr mags. The MK mags are the same as alal 6 round kahr mags. I suspect it is a vendor thing more than anything. Yes the kahr mags seem to vary in how much some stick oput and how little others stick out. LIVE WITH it.

Thanks for the replys. I just wanted to make sure I didn't get a lemon. I seem to have had bad luck in the past with getting lemons(1 kel-tec and 2 rugers). I haven't been able to get to the range to test this PM9 out yet, but it's good to know that the mag is supposed to stick out like that. I might try to O ring suggestion just so it looks a little better. Thanks.

or send it off to a finisher and have it blackened finished. I did that to my PM9 and u don't even notice nuttin. Floor plate and all is nice and matching black with the grip. Just sayin

do the kahr prepping thing and the kahr lube chart thing. go for that first range trip knowing the gun has been really cleaned up and lubed. Take nuttin for granite. Wehave seen some reports of new kahrs with just absolutely gummy and shi*ty striker channels.
