I just got my P380 and MK 9 striker channels clean. The 380 was newish and apparently didn't have it done. I found some whitish $hit in there, like lithium grease. Got her clean and it is operating smooth.

good job, from now on just use that clean out hole on each slide to keep that channel clean. IMO no real need to take that slide down anymore. Ur choice, but I cansay from my 3 kahrs with one over 32K rounds, I have never had my striker channels apart, other than todrop in the 5# striker spring. That clean out hole is my only way. If u read the propper prep thread it givesu a few tips on how to use that clean out hole to ur advantage...

I thnk my computer has a glitch in it. Just sayin. I even notice that every once in awhile some of my posts seem edited. It has to be a comuter glitch????? Just sayin

My avitars seem to change like the weather here,so I am gonna box the fokker up and send it back to Hewlett Packard.

Hey Spikedog,

If you need any of the Green can Non Clorinated Brake clean, I Have it @ Lafayette Auto Supply. It works great in between tear downs. There is a couple of Kahr Lovers in this town. I love mine. Jim

can i use clp to clean the striker channel? or just canned air like for a laptop? if now what, that is easily avail in my lgs? want to do this, as well as, a regular pre-prep when I get my 380 back....going to assume it is brand new gun, since I don't know what Kahr is going to do to fix it..I hope
thanks

ok , i searched the board and see CLP is not good, plain air not good. non clor. brake cleaner from the auto store is good. is this correct?

some do use clp, most do not, so to say not good wold not be right. plain air certinly doesn'thurt anything but it won't cleasn like a cleaner will. . Nice thing about alot of these noncholorinated spray cleaners is that it drys very fast, so no wiping or air required..

Yep.....non clor. brake cleaner or something like Gunblaster for the striker channel.
After cleaning the striker channel and gun/slide I follow the kahr lube chart which you can find in the kahr-tech sections of the forums.

I think the lube cvhart is super, I have heard some say OVER KILL", but one can look at the disagraham and make their own decision as to where not to put aything and where to put sumpin. Nuttin is set in stone, but IMO it is a damn good START..
