I looked on the Kahr website and my PM9 owner's manual to see if there were any recommendations of recoil spring assembly or any other springs that need replacement after a certain number of rounds had been fired through the pistol. Couldn't find anything. Anybody heard or read anything about it? Thanks.

I believe that Kahr recommends replacement around 1,500 rounds... OR when you start to experience problems. it's generally accepted that you only need to replace the outer spring. You can buy a 3-pack at Wolff www.gunsprings.com... cheaper... same outer springs.

They do sell complete assemblies there... non captive springs, too, guide rod(s) and all.

This is the reply that I received from Jay @ Kahr CS on this issue when I inquired.

Good afternoon. Thank you for the question. If the firearm is used as
a carry weapon, we would recommend changing the recoil spring every
1200-1500 rounds or every couple of years (whichever comes first) as
preventative maintenance. If this firearm is just used for range use, we
would recommend changing it whenever you start to see failure to feed or
return to battery issues. I hope this information helps.
sincerely,
Jay

what jay and wyn stated is about right, u can get for ur old style blunt nose PM9 or PM40 direct from wolffs their outter recoil springs and in two different weight settings even. factory and alittle heavier. BUT if u have the new beveled slide PM9 or PM40 or CM( or CM $o then u hav eto buy the complete recoil assembly directly from kahr, which to me is a real rip off as allu realy need to replace is the outter spring as needed. Kahr use dto sell the outter spring only but dropped that, 1500 rounds for most owners is a lifetime. U know who u are, so replace accordingly. Just sayin

I do have just the outer springs for spares for my PM9 and I just ordered another for the P40, as well as a set of the .380 recoil springs... $4.50 each(from Kahr). I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY WEAKENING of my Kahr springs. I think the K9's are original, but I don't have 1,500 rounds fired, yet, but I'm not sure. I didn't keep up with the shooting... and still don't really with the others.

I have a lot of Wolff springs... recoil, striker, and magazines. I bought a 10-pack of those LONG 8-round 9mm/7round .40 magazine springs. I don't think that I'll ever need them, but they were cheaper in "bulk".

The only Kahr that I had over 2K rounds through... just mine, not what Kahr shot on its FOUR trips back to the factory, is my PM45. And on its last trip it got a new frame and I don't think there are any original parts left... hence the name became "Franken-Boomer".
