Had my new CM40 to the range again and I have good and bad news.

Good news: After running some more high velocity ammo (Federal 165gr FMJ 470 ft-lb) I'm comfortable with the recoil/control and will start carrying my Winchester PDX1.....but.....

Bad news: During the break in period (first range trip) the follower on my 6rd mag broke. Have'nt called Kahr yet about that. Well today, so I wouldn't break the follower in my 5rd mag, I used the 6rd mag with the broken follower. Ok....with that magazine the slide locks back prematurely about 50% of the time. After getting home and checking Kahr's site I see this:

Q. My slide locks back after each round fired. What is wrong?

A. Either the slide stop spring is damaged or it is a broken follower. Please call 508-795-3919 and ask for replacements. Instructions for replacing the followers are in your Owner's Manual. The slide stop spring is held with a T6 torque screw.

I had some instances of the premature slide lock before but I thought my thumb was hitting the slide stop lever in recoil and changing my grip seemed to get rid of the problem. I'm going to give Kahr a call as soon as they get my warranty info but I was wondering if anyone else has seen a magazine with a broken follower cause this problem?

I wonder also if I buggered up my slide stop spring in reassembling the pistol before my first range trip. I remember having problems getting the slide stop lever back in and bending the spring some until I understood how to get it back in. Gently bent it back and seemed good to go.
