Hey guys, I have a nice CW40... the other day I did my ritual cleaning.. all went well until I loaded a clip of hollow points. I had one in the chamber and could NOT get it to eject manually. Now, keep in mind, this gun has been FLAWLESS at the range... but it's never had HPs put in it. They're Remington or Winchester, so good quality.. so don't know why it's doing this. I ended up ejecting the clip, pulled the slide back and tapped the round out.

Any ideas other than to send it back to Joe at KAHR to have them check it out?

sounds to me like u might have a round that is to long and getting lodged in the rifling. canu check that round to see if the bullet has any marks on it like rifling or a line around the bullet. Does it do it with both brands of ammo???

Odd that u can pull the slide back and the round is still stuck in the chamber. kinda also maybe could be the rounditself is not getting behind the extractor. Maybe look over the extractor to see if by chance something is amiss. U need to reduplicate this issue for sure and then documet the brand of ammo etc, if u hav eto send it back provide all this info for them. they gotta have a place to start. HP's should not be an issue but the round not being behind that extractor is not good....

Thanks Jocko. I'll look at the rounds I have left and see.... I spoke to a gunsmith today, this is what he said,

"The gun needs a break in period (500 rounds) which I realize is a pain but the issue generally clears up. Also, that model likes oil so it needs to be WELL lubricated on the slide, feed ramp, etc."

The break in won't do anything to help deal with long rounds really. It will get better and better over all but if you have rounds too long they are gonna hang. Kahrs don't seem to like long rounds very much.

My PM45 was balking on my reloads that worked in my other guns. Shortened them up just a tad and they work fine. Usually factory stuff works though.

Chamber might be a little short somehow if you keep running into this.

to anutter smitty that KNOWS kahrs, urkahr does not need 500 roundsto be right. it actuay doesntneed 50 rounds to beright. 200 rounds is what seems to smooth things aout but most here report excellent resultsright out f the box. Kahrs IMO do not need to run wet, use the kahr lube chart, it is the best. Bawana is right, if and I say it, u have to long of ronunds, they will lock up your slide, no amout of rounds will correct tht. that is a bullet seatingkthing, not realy gunb related...

I agree with jocko, 500 rounds is a lot...and just lube according to the chart. I would find another gunsmith if he's telling you to heavily oil the feed ramp, I've never heard that before...ever!
