i sent in my two cracked PM45 magazines a while back, Kahr recieved them on the 17th. today i called and spoke with Ian (would not give employee number or last name but said there are only two Ians and hes the only English one).....
i inquired about the shipping status of my replacement magazines, gave my name and nothing is in their system. i offered my gun sn# as well as the confirmation of delivery number to them but Ian said it wouldnt help them.
i gave Ian my name and number at his request so he could call me back once he found something out.
my question is for those whom have sent in cracked magazines for replacement. the c.s. rep i spoke to said "just send them in" and they would replace them free of charge.
i did this without asking for a shipping lable, did this on my dime with a note inside the package explaining the obvious problem with the mags and my name address and ph# for returns and or questions.
what have the experiences been for others who've gone through this with Kahr? should i have asked for their shipping lable for better tracking of my magazines?
im sitting here with my PM45 and a single 1911 magazine seeing how it all fits in a custom holster i just recieved.....my gun still needs 90 round before it hits the 200 round break-in period and id rather not use alternative magazines for the breaking in.....

The original "just send them in" guy may have been inexperienced. Kahr CS usually creates an RMA number for any problem I have called about.
Still, since you can provide a tracking number, they should be able to find your package and do the right thing.
Edited to add: The approach that works for me in situations like this at any vendor usually involves saying something like, "Well, I sent the mags in. I have proof of delivery. What can you do to help me?"
If I get a load of cr@p . . . the next step is to ask for a supervisor. But, it hardly ever gets that far, in my experience.
Best of luck, sir!

i sent them in usps with a tracking number for delivery confirmation only. when i told this to Ian he said that giving him that number wouldnt help.
im not asking for anything free, just replacement/exchange of substandard magazines. i can wait easy enough if they can tell me that they have my magazines and they have to make new ones that will ship in a week or what have you......its them not being able to pull up my information a week after they recieved it that worries me.
id already have new magazines if they sold the magazine bodies like they do the rest of the magazine parts. i tried to buy just magazine bodies when i called about replacements and was told to send in my cracked ones instead, because they dont sell just the magazine hulls/bodies...
edit: im hoping my new mags are in transit and will be here tomorrow so i can try out my gun while i still have a day off....

In my experience, Kahr only issues RMAs for the return of firearms.

magazines come totally assembled from their vendor, why they sell the springs and the followers separately but not the tube itself is odd. IMO>

You see the kind of crap we get into when we take up this expensive hobby. If it were me I would go and buy another mag at a LGS. What ever it costs I love it. The last experience I had was with Eoin the English guy that said his last name was Tryal. He gave me his E-mail address but I could never get it to go thru. IMO I'd rather talk to anybody else there but he always answers the phone.

LOL...i was holding out that my magazines would be here today, my last day off for a while so that i could ring out another 100 rounds to finish my PM45 break in but it wasnt to be. so, in light of there being no football, no hockey, no mma other than reruns....i dont have to drive anywhere, range session is a no go......cant buy Guinness around here unless you go to liquor store....i will down a few black and tans instead.

its funny, when i called about the plastic mag catch on my PM9 the lady said shes sending a free metal one to me. after a week and no free mag catch i ordered one. the one i paid for came in three business days, the free one came a week after the paid for one came in.
i was figuring that they get scamed a lot for "free" stuff all the time and when they saw i actually ordered one too they figured i was legit. either that or they prioritize their paying customers over their for free customers...which makes perfect sence.
once i deem my PM45 reliable for life or death situations i will be ordering more odds and ends from Kahr.
edited for spelling errors, my spelling is atrocious.

looksOK to me, but what the fokk do I know. Just sayin My used PMJ9 that I bought a few mnths ago, has the polymer catch and it works fine, so Ifit ani't broke I ain't fixin it.Actuay many eople don't realize the polymer catch has ametal insert that makes contact with the mag tube cut out. There is no realwear that at all, It just either works or it does not.
In my little mind I always felt kahr made this change as it was cheaper to get it made. MIM one peace part ovber a two peace part.

the metal mag catch in my PM9 takes quite a bit more push to disengage the magazine than did the plastic one it came with. same spring, but more travel and pressure required for it to drop a magazine.

thats odd for when u thijk about it, the catchs (both) of them can only go in that cut out so far before they start to give feed issues. IMO the lockup is not aqs severe on the all metal catch compared to the polymer catch with the steel insert. Strange..
