Well I had my P9 out for the 4th time now and put another 75 rds thru it flawlessly. Boring but SOOOO much fun. Really getting the trigger pull down now and getting tighter groups all the time.
Now the bad news. Took my new Ruger LC9 with Lasermax out for first time. The first two mags were flawless and had reasonable groups even though the trigger is no match for the P9. In bright sunlight the laser is virtually useless at 7 yds. But then alas, I went to 3rd mag and had two failure to fires. 4th mag had 4 FTF and after that could not get it to fire at all. Primers all had no marks from any of the FTF's Very disappointing. :( I had done all the things prior to range that I did with my P9 but what a sad day. Came home and cleaned it thoroughly and will go back to range in a couple of weeks to check it out.
Anybody have any reports or info on the LC9???? THink I'll try the Ruger forum.

the LC9 trigger has a long reset like a revolver. try the "pencil test" at home to see if youre getting firing pin impacts.

Take a pencil with a good eraser. Drop it down the barrel with the gun pointing straight up. Pull the trigger and see if it shoots the pencil out.
No pencil flying you got a dead trigger somewhere along the line.

After thinking about it a minute. I thought that might be what it was. I'll give that a try.
Thanks

Could be a broken firing pin.

I'm thinking that may be the case JF. Tried the pencil test with a couple of items (long solid eraser and the refill of a ballpoint pen and "no joy" with either one even moving them. Guess it's time to call Ruger and see what their customer service is like,

im sorry to hear that you got a lemon. ive never had to use Ruger customer service but with them being a big name and known for making descent and sturdy guns id like to think they will take care of this with no money out of your pocket.

Word has it they are excellent at taking care of stuff. I haven't dealt with them in years but they were right there for me way back when.

Ruger CS is excellent. Document symptoms in detail and email customer service. Photos help as well.
They'll assign you a CS rep who will send you a ppd UPS label.
Make note of the tracking number.
You can correspond with the CS guy but I found it much easier to call their toll free number early in their day. They're in Arizona. Speak to the rep and determine what their current schedule is and when you'll see your firearm back. They were within a day of what they promised me.

Update. Well, I was impressed. Called Ruger Customer Service and even told them I had purchased gun on Gunbroker but was told it was NIB. They never questioned a thing and said looks like you need an RMA and I've already received the prepaid shipping label in an email. Hope this takes care of problem.

Try the old Elsie Pea forum.
BTW, my wife's LC9 has been flawless. Not as fun to shoot as my CM9 and not nearly as accurate, but still a dependable carry. It consistenetly shoots low, but at SD ranges, it will do its job.
Ruger will take care of you.
