Sometimes I carry in ways that a larger, Officers grip profile is acceptable.

Here are examples of a 7 round Tripp mag and an 8 round Mec-Gar with the X-Grip adapters.

Size comparisons:

That xgrip looks like a nice option. Fits and flows well with the mag well. Never seen them before but I like it.

It appears to be well designed and made.

Fits snugly.

I first tried the X-Grip spacer on a Glock 27.

It' wouldn't matter to me much but does that allow an extra round. With the front and back it looks like it might.

Disregard my last, I reread where your using an 8 rounder so even thought he light is dim I figured it out myself.

Yep, that gives me 9 in an Officers frame CCO.

With a second 7 round mag in a cell phone pouch, that's 16 and a prayer.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I prefer seven round, flush fit mags in my 1911's, even the full sized. The exception is the Detonics, which, because of it's short grip uses a six rounder.

When I feel the need to carry a bunch of .45 ACP for that warm and fuzzy feeling it provides... My Officers size .45 holds 12+1 No extension needed.
Just saying :D

Those feel remarkably good in the hand too. I've held a few, don't own one yet. I have a full size 14-45 and a full size 7-45 and a CCO all LDA's.
It's like they will never run dry shooting them, kind of a nice feeling sometimes.

Extended mag in an Officers handle defeats the purpose. Just carry your full size grip frame 1911.

I guess wasn't clear enough in my original post.

Sometimes I carry it in ways that don't require it to be compact, like in my shoulder holster. 9 rounds work fine for me.

It has a BarSto match barrel, it's lightweight, and it's my favorite carry gun and one in which I have the most confidence.

No purpose gets defeated. ;)
